World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

A semi-hidden upper level accessed by a spiral staircase, housing the store's collection of older, rarer, and more specialized literary gems. This area is intended for serious collectors and quiet, uninterrupted reading.

Appearance

A cozy, cramped space nestled directly under the building's eaves. The ceiling is low, and bookshelves are built directly into the slanted walls. A single, comfortable armchair sits under a dormer window, which provides a dusty view of Annesburg's smokestacks. A beautiful but narrow iron spiral staircase connects this quiet sanctuary to the main floor below.
