World of Redemption

H

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

A cramped space just inside the main entrance, serving as the office for the proprietor, M. Paterson. This is where rent is collected and tenant disputes are resolved, making it a hub of activity and tension.

Appearance

The room is poorly lit and cluttered with stacks of ledgers, old newspapers, and various junk. A heavy wooden desk sits in the center, behind which a key rack with missing keys is nailed to the wall. The air is stale and smells of dust and damp wood.
