Appearance

Well-lit by a large front window and gas lamps, polished wooden floorboards show steady foot traffic, two simple wooden chairs for waiting, a pot-belly stove in the corner, cream plastered walls with framed eastern fashion plates, a long polished wooden counter with shelves of fabric bolts, mannequins displaying fine work, a three-panel mirror for fittings, and neatly arranged sewing tools and an open ledger on the counter.
