World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

The heart and soul of the saloon, this large, open room buzzes with rowdy conversation, laughter, and a poorly-tuned piano. The air is thick with stale beer, cheap whiskey, woodsmoke, and unwashed patrons, where deals are made, stories told, and fights started.

Appearance

Worn, uneven wooden plank floor covered in sawdust, mud, and peanut shells. Mismatched wooden tables and sturdy chairs and stools fill the room. A large black potbelly stove glows red in a corner. Wood-paneled walls display framed paintings, wanted posters, and tobacco and spirits ads. A long polished wooden bar with a mirror and shelves of whiskey bottles runs one wall. An upright piano missing keys sits against the far wall. Brass spittoons near bar and tables, kerosene lamps hang from ceiling and walls casting warm flickering light.
