Western
In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Oil Derricks (COFOD)
Point of Interest
Details
Coordinates | (1060, 657) |
Description
The oil derricks are tall, skeletal frameworks constructed from heavy timbers, tapering as they rise from a wide base to a narrow top. These imposing towers house the pumping machinery—including a large flywheel and a prominent pumping arm—used to extract crude oil from deep underground reserves. There are three derricks at this location, making them the most visible and defining structures of the oil field operation.
Appearance
The derricks stand as functional monuments to industry, their wooden beams often appearing dark and stained with oil and grime. When operational, they are in constant, rhythmic motion, and the air around them is filled with the loud, groaning and creaking sounds of their heavy machinery at work.
