Western
In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

A small workshop attached to a building or in a basement where coffins are crafted and finished by Mr. Ballard and his assistant. The space is filled with the sounds of sawing and hammering and the scent of fresh-cut wood and varnish.
Appearance
Organized but covered in fine sawdust, with a large workbench surrounded by stacks of pine and oak lumber. Several coffins in various stages of completion line one wall. Unfinished wooden floorboards covered in sawdust and wood shavings. Unfinished wood walls with tools hanging from pegs. A pot-belly stove provides warmth. Shelves hold jars of varnish, wood stain, and coffin hardware.
