World of Redemption

The Abandoned Oil Derrick is a hauntingly abandoned structure in The Heartlands, New Hanover, once owned by the ill-fated Mr. Varley. Following a fierce rivalry with Cornwall Kerosene & Tar, Varley's life was claimed in a fiery incident, leaving his charred remains atop the platform, a grim reminder of corporate greed and vengeance. A dinosaur bone can be found at the bottom of the drilled hole. South of this location, up the ravine that goes to the left, another dinosaur bone can be located. A letter from Cameron Spence, the vice-president of Cornwall Kerosene & Tar, can be found on the burned corpse. Encounters: O'Driscoll Gang Enforcer (DC14) O'Driscoll Gang New Recruit (DC9)

The structure is a rusted, skeletal frame of metal and wood, with remnants of machinery scattered around. The air is thick with the scent of oil and decay, and the eerie silence is occasionally broken by the creaking of the derelict platform.
