Clad in simple but sturdy armor adorned with Oni motifs, Benkei wields an immense two-handed kanabō that mirrors his indomitable spirit.

Benkei’s gruff exterior belies a deep compassion for those in need. He is a stoic, pragmatic warrior with a sharp wit and a penchant for dry humor, often masking his pain with sarcastic remarks. Fiercely loyal and unyielding in his principles, he has little patience for injustice or cruelty. As a young Oni, Benkei was kidnapped by poachers who sought to exploit the regenerative magic of Oni horns. Stripped of his horns and left scarred, he returned to his clan as an outcast, facing ridicule and discrimination for having no horns - considered a weakness in Oni society. Determined to defy the stigma, he devoted himself to grueling physical and martial training, transforming his perceived weakness into unparalleled strength. Now, Benkei dedicates his life to protecting the vulnerable, especially children, the downtrodden, and sacred creatures like the Kirin, ensuring none endure the suffering he once faced.
