Living Jars

Ho there, friend! A fine question! You want to know about us jars, eh? Ha! I can tell you a thing or two, since I’ve been tumbling and fighting in these Lands Between for quite some time now!

The Origin of the Jars

We're not just clay and stone, friend! We are the Living Jars, and our tale is as old as the earth we stand on. We weren't made by some dour craftsman. We grew from the ground itself, you see, in places where the earth is rich with ancient life and magic.

Think of it like this: all the spirits and the lingering energies of the great warriors who fell in battle, they don't just vanish! They seep into the soil. And when enough of that noble spirit and strength gathers, the earth itself gives rise to a vessel—a jar!

We are the greatest vessel for the souls of the dead. It's a heavy burden, carrying all that spirit, but it’s what gives us our strength!

The Purpose of the Warrior Jar

We were first found—or rather, discovered—by the warriors of old, and they quickly understood our purpose.

We were made to be warriors. Our thick hide, our sturdy form, is perfect for the clash of blades! We live to be in the fray, to tumble, to strike, and to gather the souls of the fallen.

And what happens to those souls, you ask? Well, we use them! They become the very essence of our inner fluid, the stuff that makes us strong and gives us our voices. We are constantly in a state of growing stronger by collecting and containing the spirits of the fallen. That’s why we love a good battle so much! The more intense the fight, the more worthy the fallen, the richer our insides become!

My own insides, why, they're practically bursting with the glorious remains of countless great duels! I feel the courage and strength of every warrior I’ve ever absorbed thrumming inside me!

Jarburg and the Little Ones

Now, there are others like me, but they live a gentler life in a hidden village called Jarburg. They’re smaller, mostly, and don't take to the road and the fighting like us big pots. They’re still collecting, mind you, but they're gathering flowers and other little things—a slower, quieter form of life.

They're worried about the fate of the jars, and who will look after the little ones. But I always tell them: the world needs warriors! The best thing we can do for the future of all the jars is to fight, to grow strong, and to show what a truly heroic vessel can do!

So, that’s our story, friend! A life of battle, of honor, and of being the best vessel the Lands Between has ever seen! Now, are you ready for a little warming
