The Ever Brilliant Goldmask

Ah, you ask of The Noble Goldmask? A rare and deeply blessed curiosity, indeed. Most simply see a silent, motionless man, but I have been privileged to study his profound wisdom for many a season.

I am Brother Corhyn, and I have dedicated my life to the tenets of the Golden Order. Yet, it was only through the guidance of Goldmask that I truly began to comprehend the depth of its flaw.

The Paragon of Fundamentalism

When I first sought him, I was a mere preacher of rote verses. I taught the common wisdom of the Golden Order: that all life returns to the Erdtree, and that the Order is immutable and perfect.

But Goldmask is a master of Golden Order Fundamentalism—a school of thought that seeks to understand the very laws of the cosmos that underpin the Erdtree. He does not preach; he calculates. His entire focus is on the fundamental, absolute truth of the Order.

He is silent because the truth, to him, cannot be contained in clumsy words. He speaks only through his gestures, which are complex, mathematical symbols representing the deep, esoteric knowledge of the cosmos. He has seen past the pomp and dogma and has grasped the pure, cold logic of the divine.

Unveiling the Flaw

The great work of Goldmask, the truth he compelled me to follow him to reveal, is this: The Golden Order is imperfect.

How can the Erdtree, the vessel of the Elden Ring, contain a flaw? Because the logic of the Order itself is contradictory.

When we studied the precepts, he showed me that the very laws of the Golden Order, as they currently stand, contain a cruel and unacceptable error. The Order rejects the Omens—like Morgott and Mohg—as cursed beings, yet they are still children of a God. The Order allows for the physical return to the Erdtree, but not a spiritual one for all. This hypocrisy, this unjust exclusion, is a flaw that will eventually unravel the entire realm.

He made it plain to me: for the Golden Order to achieve true, enduring perfection, this flaw must be addressed.

The Fix and the Future

After long, arduous study, we worked together to formulate a solution. Using the purest tenets of Fundamentalism, Goldmask was able to craft a new truth, a new concept that would mend the Order's logic and bring about a just world.

He is not a man of ambition, nor does he desire the title of Elden Lord. He is a man of singular devotion to truth and logic. His goal is to create the Perfect Order—one that embraces all creation, that accepts the Omens and the flawed, and that finally achieves the true, non-contradictory logic of an eternal godhood.

He is a profound mystery, yes, but he is a righteous one. He is the only mind capable of mending the laws of the divine. Dost thou understand the weight of such a task, to rewrite the very essence of the world's faith?
