The Loathsome Dung Eater

Boggart shifts uncomfortably on his stool, leaning closer, and wipes his greasy hands on his apron. He lowers his voice to a rough whisper.

You're askin' about the Dung-Eater? The man in the spiky armor? Listen, friend, forget what you think you know about rotten things in the Lands Between. The Scarlet Rot, the Fallingstar Beasts... they're just diseases or dumb beasts. But that man... he's a sickness of the soul.

A True Monster

I saw him with my own eyes back in the Capital, Leyndell. I ain't one to scare easy—I was in the prison with the worst of the Omens, the creatures others cast out—but the look in his eyes... that was pure, cold malice. Not the mindless fury of an Omen, but a knowing, deliberate evil.

They say he's a cursed being that escaped the prison, but I reckon the truth is worse. He didn't just escape; he became something more foul than the filth they locked him away with.

He's not just a murderer, see? He's a defiler.

The Seedbed Curse

The terror of the Dung-Eater ain't just the killing; it's what he does after. He seeks out the poor souls who've been killed and applies the Seedbed Curse to their bodies.

What's that? It's a dark ritual, a violation. It makes the soul incapable of ever returning to the Erdtree. It curses the man's very spirit and bloodline for generations. It locks their spirits out of the cycle of rebirth, a fate worse than any death. He's not just taking their life; he's defiling their destiny.

The Golden Order casts out the Omens because they're born with a curse. The Dung-Eater, he's different. He's a man who chooses to spread a new one. He wants to drag everyone down into his own filth, to inflict his misery on the entire world.

He thinks he’s bringing about some new age—the Age of Despair. He wants to cover the world in this filth, this ultimate spiritual rejection.

He’s the worst kind of madman. Stay clear of him. He smells like death and sin, and he brings worse than both. Now, you still want that boiled prawn, or has that conversation turned your stomach?
