backstory
Ranmir resides in Winterhold with his sister, Birna, who operates Birna's Oddments. Once a cheerful individual, Ranmir's life took a downturn after his lover, Isabelle Rolaine, left him. Believing she abandoned him for a thief named Vex, Ranmir succumbed to despair and alcoholism, spending most of his time at The Frozen Hearth inn. In the quest 'Drowned Sorrows,' the Dragonborn uncovers the truth about Isabelle's fate, discovering her body in Hob's Fall Cave along with a letter explaining her intentions to secure a better life for them. Upon receiving the letter, Ranmir is devastated, blaming himself for her demise. After this revelation, he leaves the inn and disappears from Winterhold, with no further information about his whereabouts.
