Human Variant
Certain variants of humans evolved differently or come from other lineages on Earth. The Atlanteans and Amazonians are such examples of variants.
Android
Androids are artificially intelligent robots usually designed to have humanoid bodies. They have what ever powers and abilities that the tech they were created from provides them. Some can be outdated or malfunctioning, while others can be very advanced and powerful. An android is no better or worse than the sum of it's parts.

Cyborgs are organic organisms combined with cybernetic parts. It can be a minor implant or a major procedure where the individual becomes mostly machine.

Governments and corporations often try to weaponize human enhancement creating super soldier programs and secret labs with off the books funding.
Meta (Genetic Mutation)
The meta gene is a genetic anomaly that some living beings or (Meta Humans) are born with. Considered as the next step in evolution. It can develop in any number of ways that typically involve some sort of trauma and adrenaline surge. Incredible powers and physical changes can develop once this genetic mutation becomes active.
