Description

New Austin is a rugged and arid desert, marked by its sparse population and ongoing westward growth. Wild animals and outlaws freely traverse the land, creating both danger and fascination. The main settlements, Armadillo and Tumbleweed, offer safety in this unforgiving environment, while the surrounding areas remain largely rural and often bleak. New Austin is segmented into four distinct regions—Cholla Springs, Gaptooth Ridge, Hennigan's Stead, and Río Bravo—standing as a stark reminder of frontier life during a transformative era. The Del Lobo Gang, or "Del Lobos," is a large group of Mexican outlaws, exiles, and opportunists. While they primarily occupy New Austin, their camps and outposts are scattered throughout various locations in the game’s narrative and in Red Dead Online. This gang harbors a deep-seated resentment towards the U.S. Government, stemming from the repercussions of the Mexican–American War. The Blackwater Ledger is sold in West Elizabeth and New Austin.
