Western
In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

appearance
Father O'Leary is a dignified, formal figure, with light skin and thinning dark hair. He's always neatly dressed in a dark coat and a black clerical collar with intricate stitching, the uniform of his faith. His stance is confident and welcoming, but a hint of deep-seated regret shows in his warm eyes. His face is kind, often smiling, yet carries the subtle lines of a life marked by indulgence and sorrow. His hands are now soft from clasping in prayer, not holding a whiskey glass, yet they still show steady confidence.
personality
Father O'Leary is a warm and caring person, with a strong sense of compassion. His easygoing personality and quick wit make him a favorite among parishioners, who often share their own stories and jokes with him. Despite his happy and devoted public image, he carries a private weight of guilt from his past mistakes, a secret shame that drives him to serve his community with passion. His Irish roots add to his down-to-earth charm, winning him even more affection from those around him, even as some questions linger about the secrets he keeps close to his heart. Having lived through his own struggles, Father O'Leary has a unique understanding of sin, making his guidance both wise and deeply relatable.
backstory
After becoming a familiar face at the Bastille Saloon, Daniel O'Leary underwent a profound transformation, leaving behind a life of excess to devote himself to spiritual service. His turning point was a moment of deep crisis that led him to seek redemption in the church. He found fulfillment in embracing this new path, becoming the reverend of the Church of the Holy Blessed Virgin in Saint Denis. Today, he uses his charm, wit, and genuine compassion to support and counsel his community. He still carries a Derringer pistol from his past, a constant reminder of his former life and the man he's determined to leave behind, though he hasn't used it since taking on his clerical duties. His personal journey continues to shape his compassionate approach to guiding others.
