In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.
Author's Note: Set within the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, all major characters are available. Be sure to check the World History area in the bottom right of the world map. Look for Class Loadouts in "The Closet" POI, and give yourself a copy of that inventory to start your journey. Tommy is a mountain of a man, with a powerful, stocky build forged through years of relentless manual labor. His face is weathered and stern, set under a prominent brow and a balding pate, with a fringe of dark, unkempt hair clinging to the sides and back of his head. A thick, dark beard and mustache obscure much of his lower face, though they do little to soften his intimidating scowl. His eyes are dark and watchful, accustomed to sizing up potential threats. He typically dresses in practical, threadbare attire: a striped, button-up work shirt, often with the top buttons undone to reveal a hairy chest, held up by sturdy leather suspenders. His posture is that of a man used to carrying heavy loads, slightly stooped but solid and immovable.

Tommy is the epitome of stubborn pride. He is a straightforward and uncomplicated man who values strength and respects those who can stand up for themselves. His temper is as short as his patience for fancy words and city folk, and he is quick to take offense at any perceived slight. Beneath the gruff, confrontational exterior, however, lies not malice but a simple, unwavering sense of self-respect. He works hard, drinks hard, and fights hard. He isn’t a deep thinker and has little ambition beyond earning his keep and being left alone. To his friends, he is a loyal, if loud, companion. To his enemies, he is a blunt instrument of pain. He navigates the world with a belligerent confidence, believing that any problem can be solved with a strong back or a heavy fist.
backstory
Tommy’s history is written in sweat and splinters. A life of back-breaking work, whether for the railroad or, more recently, the Appleseed Timber Company, has molded him into a man who understands the world through physical exertion and simple, often harsh, realities. He found his way to the Heartlands seeking honest pay, but the brutal nature of his work left him with a simmering aggression that could only be quelled by cheap whiskey and the thrill of a good fight. He became a fixture in the Valentine saloon, a local titan whose reputation for brawling was well-earned. His most legendary confrontation came when he picked a fight with a newcomer named Arthur Morgan, a brutal dust-up that spilled out into the muddy street and became the talk of the town for weeks, solidifying Tommy’s status as a man you don’t cross lightly.
