Description

Nethergarde Keep, a Dalaran fortress of dour mages and paladins, keeps watch over the Dark Portal, and the demons and ogres that would abuse its power. Nethergarde Keep is a heavily defended Alliance town located in the Blasted Lands. Nestled atop the cliffs of the Blasted Lands, Nethergarde Keep stands as a steadfast sentinel over the Dark Portal. Commissioned by Archmage Khadgar after the Second War, the fortress was constructed by the Stonemasons Guild with support—grudging or generous—from the Alliance of Lordaeron. Staffed primarily by Kirin Tor magi and paladins, its purpose was to monitor the remnants of Draenor's corruption and prevent further demonic incursions. Despite the fading unity of the Alliance, high elves aided its defense, drawn by the Portal’s arcane mysteries. Over time, Nethergarde evolved into a vital research and military outpost, its efforts sustained by Stormwind and protected by the enduring vigilance of those who remember the cost of war.
