Addle's Stead

Addle's Stead

Addle's Stead is located in southwestern Duskwood, south of Raven Hill and west of the Vul'Gol Ogre Mound. It is one of the many abandoned farmsteads, presumably left behind when the darkness crept into Duskwood. The farm has been completely taken over by agents of the Defias Brotherhood, who creep throughout the field, hide in the barn, and stalk in the small farmhouse.

Aldrassil

Aldrassil

Aldrassil is the giant tree and village in the center of Shadowglen and it is a haven for evolving druids. The leader of Shadowglen, Tenaron Stormgrip, makes his home inside the very top of Aldrassil. One can reach his quarters by following the long staircase that spirals up the outside of the huge trunk. The interior of the trunk, at its base, has been fitted out by night elves. Vendors and various trainers are on hand to help adventurers improve their skills: Andiss the armourer, Janna Brihgtmoon the clothier, Khardan Proudblade the weaponsmith and Keina the Bowyer are present. Dellylah and Lyrai sell food, drink and various supplies. Shadowglen sentinels, heavily armed, are posted at the entrance and inside, watch over the premises and patrol the surrounding area. There are no monsters in this area

Alexston Farmstead

Alexston Farmstead

Alexston Farmstead is one of the many farms in northern and central Westfall that have been taken over by the Defias Brotherhood. Now, the deadly mechanical Harvest Watchers roam the fields, and the Defias have laid claim to the farm. Baros Alexston, once a farm boy from Westfall, rose to prominence as Stormwind’s chief architect. A former Stonemason and colleague of VanCleef, he stayed loyal to Stormwind after the Guild’s fall. Pragmatic and principled, Baros shaped the city's future—stone by stone—while keeping secrets even Master Shaw respects.

Altar of Storms

Altar of Storms

Altar of Storms can be found on the western edge of the Blasted Lands. Located in the mountains Lady Sevine and her servants can be found here. Although once an orc, Sevine is now in fact a demon. She is one of three (along with Grol the Destroyer and Archmage Allistarj) who pledged allegiance to Razelikh, who in return granted them land, and an endless life as long as they remained in the Blasted Lands and in return now must protect him. Lady Sevine was given an Altar of Storms, one of the few remaining in Azeroth. When The Fallen Hero of the Horde and his team ventured into the Blasted Lands, they were captured. Now his comrades are forced to be servants of Grol, Allistarj and Sevine. Dreadscorn who patrols up and down the hill, starting from the bottom and working his way up to the base of the Altar of Storms can also be found here.

Alther's Mill

Alther's Mill

Alther's Mill is an abandoned lumber mill located northeast of Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains region of human lands. This is a small area overrun by spiders, buzzards and the occasional stray orc. Most folks pass through on the way to Stonewatch Keep.

The ruins of Ameth'Aran can be found to the southeast of Auberdine in Darkshore. Before the time of the Great Sundering, Queen Azshara brought her favored servitors, those of the Highborne, to the twin towns of Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran. In its prime, the twin cities were graced by the blessing of the queen and were a sight to behold, with bazaars and temples to Elune. Back then, it was a place where the servants of Queen Azshara freely practiced their powerful magics. Eventually, these two cities were destroyed when the first Well of Eternity was shattered. Now it is inhabited by the restless spirits of the Highborne that once dwelt within its walls. In Ameth'Aran's ruins lie two large ancient tablets, scrawled with the stories of the town and its fall. Sentinel Tysha Moonblade was sent to explore the ruins and came across with two large tablets, scrawled with the stories of Ameth'Aran and its fall. Ariden's Camp

Ariden's Camp

Ariden's Camp is a deserted campsite found just north of the main road passing through Deadwind Pass from Duskwood to the Swamp of Sorrows. Ariden was the leader of the Dark Riders, and this was the camp he set up before being cursed, from which he attempted to sell Medivh's fake artifacts.

The Bael'dun Digsite is an excavation site of the dwarven expedition based at Bael Modan. It is a large quarry dug into the mountainside in the western edge of Mulgore. This incursion was against the warnings of Baine Bloodhoof, who saw the excavations as an affront to the Earth Mother, and as diplomatic solutions failed, the Bloodhoof tribe are resolved to drive the invaders out by taking and breaking their pickaxes. The Explorers' Guild has set up an excavation site here of 200 inhabitants. It is a strong supply line runs from Bael'dun to Bael Modan in the Barrens.

Bael'dun Keep

Bael'dun Keep

Bael'dun Keep is the fortress that overlooks the Bael Modan digsite in the southern Barrens, in the arid hills of the Southern Barrens. Built into a rocky cliffside, its stone walls and towers rise defiantly above the dusty plains, reflecting the dwarves' engineering prowess and military discipline. The keep serves as a strategic outpost for the dwarves of Ironforge, who conduct archaeological digs in the region, seeking ancient secrets buried beneath the earth. Guarded by stout and vigilant soldiers, the keep is a symbol of dwarven resilience in a hostile land. Despite its imposing presence, Bael'dun Keep is often met with suspicion and tension from the local Tauren population, who view the dwarves’ excavation efforts as desecration. Gann Stonespire and Feegly the Exiled give out quests to raid the stronghold, which is ruled by the cunning General Twinbraid.

Ban'ethil Barrow Den

Ban'ethil Barrow Den is a small barrow den in Teldrassil that was once one of the sacred places built by night elves to hold sleeping Druids of the Talon. However, control over it has recently been taken over by the corrupted furbolg Gnarlpine tribe, and is now a dangerous place to venture for a lone night elf. Its two sections are referred to as Lower Den and Upper Den.

Bashal'Aran is a night elven ruin found to the southwest of Lor'danel in northern Darkshore, formerly consisting of ancient Highborne ruins. Before the time of the Great Sundering, Queen Azshara brought her favored servitors, those of the Highborne, to the twin towns of Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran. In its prime, the twin cities were graced by the blessing of the queen and were a sight to behold, with bazaars and temples to Elune. Eventually, these two cities were destroyed when the first Well of Eternity was shattered. Thousands of years later, the ruins of Bashal'Aran have been overrun with demonic minions - grells and satyrs - which have taken up residence in the area. These evil creatures feed upon the magical energies left among the ruins, their powers growing from the continued exposure.

Bathran's Haunt

Bathran's Haunt is located in northwestern Ashenvale, north of the Ruins of Ordil'Aran and a ways east of the Zoram Strand. It is the site of an ancient Kaldorei ruin, long since abandoned by the night elves. However, it has recently become populated once again, by agents of the forsaken. These undead creatures skulk among the fallen pillars and broken bits of marble, and the land itself has been tainted by their presence, the grass turning a foul brown and the flowers withering away. The Forsaken agents, mostly made up of herbalists and their thugs, appear to be using the various local herbs, and their makeshift laboratory for malicious purposes. The haunt frequently sees action as questing adventurers enter the haunt in search of Bathran's Hair - a valuable remedial herb that only grows in this particular spot.

Beezil's Wreck is a goblin zeppelin that has crashed in the deepest parts of Dustwallow Marsh, east of Tabetha's Farm. The zeppelin was carrying a shipment of supplies south, and is frequently sought out by adventurers looking for Seaforium Boosters. It is a volatile engineering charge designed to breach locked doors, chests, or barriers. Packed with unstable goblin explosives, it's the rogue’s rival and the saboteur’s best friend.

Beggar's Haunt is an abandoned scout tower of the Stormwind Guard located in northeastern Duskwood, east of Manor Mistmantle and north of the road that leads into Deadwind Pass. It is used by the Forsaken to conduct experiments. It holds two agents of the Forsaken - Deathstalker Zraedus and a member of the Royal Apothecary Society named Apothecary Faustin.

Blackfathom Deeps

Blackfathom Deeps is a former, partially underwater temple to the moon goddess Elune that was once known as Lathar'Lazal. It was thought to have been destroyed during the Sundering, and lost beneath the ocean. Millennia later, members of the Twilight's Hammer cult were drawn by whispers and foul dreams to what is now a series of watery caverns located beneath Ashenvale, near the ancient night elven city of Zoram. After sacrificing untold numbers of innocents, the cult was rewarded with a new task: to protect one of the Old Gods' most cherished creatures, a pet that was in need of nurturing before it could unleash his dark powers on the world, the monstrous hydra Aku'mai the Devourer. The cult known as the Twilight's Hammer came to bask in Aku'mai's evil presence. Empowered by the ancient rites of the chaotic Old Gods, the cultists, led by Twilight Lord Kelris, strove to bring about the return of their dark patrons and spread death and terror across the world.

Bloodfen Burrow is a cave in western Dustwallow Marsh where a highly concentrated number of Bloodfen raptors have come to nest. Upon close inspection, the remnants of some sort of settlement can be seen just outside the cave, torn apart by the ravenous dinosaurs. One part of Cortello's Riddle can be found here. Cortello's Riddle is a mysterious quest chain hidden across the Eastern Kingdoms. It begins with a cryptic note found in a dusty old chest, hinting at long-lost pirate treasure. Each riddle leads deeper into forgotten places—from jungle ruins to coastal caves. Only the clever and bold can follow Cortello’s trail and uncover the secrets buried with his final legacy.

Bloodtooth Camp is located in Ashenvale just west of the Falfarren River and southwest of the southern Moonwell. As its name implies, it is the camp of a tribe of furbolgs led by Ran Bloodtooth. These furbolgs have all been corrupted, and are hostile to any outsiders.

Bloodvenom Post is a tiny Horde outpost in Felwood near the Bloodvenom River. It sits on the high cliffs overlooking Darkshore. It seems to have been founded by the tauren due to the original architecture and the tauren guards.

Bolgan's Hole is a cave in Gelkis Village in Desolace that houses the most prominent members of the Gelkis centaur. The clan's khan—Khan Shaka—is housed here.

Boulder Lode Mine is a small, hostile mining site located in the northern part of The Barrens, nestled into the rugged hills near the border with Durotar. The mine is overrun by hostile Venture Company mercenaries—greedy, aggressive goblins and their brutish peon laborers who have established an illicit mining operation there. The area around the mine is littered with makeshift machinery, wooden scaffolding, and crates of stolen ore. Inside, narrow tunnels and poorly supported shafts wind through the rock. Its presence poses a serious threat to the region’s natural resources and to the safety of nearby Horde settlements. Local quest-givers in The Crossroads often send adventurers to Boulder Lode Mine to disrupt the Venture Co.'s operations, cull their numbers, and recover stolen materials.

Boulderslide Cavern is a cave found at the end of Boulderslide Ravine where the Boulderslide kobolds nest. They are frantically mining a rare glowing purple crystal called Resonite, which they guard with their lives. The crystals have a trace of earthen magic. Deep within the mine, the kobolds uncovered a Resonite Cask, which housed a slumbering earthen by the name of Goggeroc whom they now worship

Brackenwall Village

Brackenwall Village

Brackenwall Village is a small Horde-affiliated outpost in northwest Dustwallow Marsh. It is run and populated mainly by ogres. Besides a few huts, the village also counts an ogre mound. After the black dragonflight destroyed Stonemaul Village in the southern part of the Marsh, Mok'Morokk' Rexxar's successor, led them north to establish Brackenwall as their new home. The Stonemaul ogres have remained allied with the Horde since the Third War when the half-ogre Rexxar defeated their leader in combat and took command of the tribe. Daelin Proudmoore's loyalists harass Brackenwall, but Jaina keeps her own troops reined in.

Brackwell Pumpkin Patch

Brackwell Pumpkin Patch, located in the southeastern region of Elwynn Forest, has fallen under the control of the notorious Defias Brotherhood. Their agents now patrol the two buildings that once housed peaceful harvests. Within the patch itself roams Princess, a boar, along with her loyal companion another boar. Princess is a prize-winning menace, notorious for ravaging crops at both Stonefield Farm and Maclure Vineyards. The smaller of the two houses on the site shelters three figures: Morgan the Collector, Erlan Drudgemoor, a brooding and reclusive figure; and Surena Caledon, who was once an apprentice of Gakin the Darkbinder, who gifted her a bloodstone choker. She betrayed Gakin by joining Erlan Drudgemoor and the Defias Brotherhood. Morgan is a member of the Defias Brotherhood and in charge of Defias operations in Elwynn Forest. He has a ring that provides clues about the connection between the Defias Brotherhood and the old Stonemasons Guild in Stormwind.

The Broken Pillar is a small group of troll ruins in an area south of Gadgetzan and east of the Abyssal Sands. It is here that Marvon Rivetseeker, a goblin scientist from Ratchet, has set up camp in search of answers. Marvon's work on the pillar later became a subject of studies for archaeologists. Broken Pillar is a troll archaeology dig site.

Dwarven encampment located in the southern Silithus, east of the Scarab Wall to supply the assault on Ahn'Qiraj temple. At the camp is Frankal Stonebridge, a dwarf in need of help to an elixir that will allow us to more readily decipher the glyphs and language of the silithid and Qiraji. There is also Rutgar Glyphshaper who is looking for rubbings of crystals found in the hives in Silithus and the glyphs on them.

The Burning Blade Coven lies within the dusty red mountains that form the northern border of the Valley of Trials. The valley, which serves as a proving ground for aspiring orcs and trolls, is no longer as safe as it used to be. Imps and other weak demons have spilled out from the mouth of the cave and are causing mischief. Some say that there is more than mischief on the minds of stronger demons that inhabit the cave, and that there may be members of the Burning Blade within the abandoned caverns. New adventurers often tackle the dangers of the Coven as their final test before leaving the Valley of Trials. The Burning Blade Coven is led by a warlock called Yarrog Baneshadow. He has become dangerous because he possesses a powerful artifact known as the Burning Blade Medallion.

Camp Aparaje was a tauren village in eastern Stonetalon Mountains that was attacked by Grimtotem forces from Grimtotem Post led by Grundig Darkcloud. The Grimtotem tribe is a tribe of dissident taurens who do not share Cairne Bloodhoof's ideals of uniting the clans and instead focus on seeking retribution for the wrongs imposed on them in recent history. Makaba Flathoof, a tauren found at Camp Una'fe in the Northern Barrens, after having escaped the assault on Honor's Stand used to live there with his daughter Kaya.

Camp E'thok

Camp E'thok is a Galak centaur camp in northwestern Thousand Needles. The centaurs here raid a caravan that the goblin Wizlo Bearingshiner is in, but can not steal his most prized gadget, as it's tied around the neck of a ferocious panther he owns.

Camp Mojache

Camp Mojache

Camp Mojache is a tauren village in eastern Feralas overlooking the scenic Wildwind Lake. The camp straddles a swift-flowing stream that feeds the lake. Tauren refugees have started flooding into the village from Thousand Needles, mostly from Freewind Post, due to the destruction. The camp is known for its thick hides and courageous braves offering travelers protection against the dangers of Feralas. The tauren of this village dress in simple animal skins, live in flimsy huts, and dance in strange mystic rituals. They have a written language, practice leatherworking and tailoring. They also love to tell stories. They were the main reason the ogres hadn't taken over all of Feralas. The tauren, it seems, are involved in an endless effort to keep the ogres from encroaching on their lands.

Camp Narache is a tauren town which is located in southern Mulgore at the northern edge of the Red Cloud Mesa. Camp Narache is the main village of the Hawkwind Tribe, and its Chief gives the first quest for tauren. It has five buildings: the main tent (where several wounded braves rest), a spirit lounge, a bakery tent, an armory tent and a simple trader's tent. The class trainers are gathered in a circle around the center of the village, paying respect to the fallen matriarch Greatmother Hawkwind.

Camp Taurajo is a tauren outpost situated in the Barrens near the mountain pass leading to Mulgore, nestled between the Crossroads to the north and Mulgore to the west. It serves primarily as a tauren settlement, acting as a rest point and supply stop for travelers and adventurers journeying through central Kalimdor. Surrounded by rugged plains and roaming wildlife, the camp is constructed with traditional tauren architecture—leather tents, wooden totems, and fire pits that reflect their deep connection to nature and their ancestral traditions. The camp is modest in size but it offers basic amenities such as a flight master, vendors, and quest-givers, many of whom are tauren warriors or hunters. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, standing in contrast to the more militarized outposts elsewhere in the region. Camp Taurajo is a symbol of tauren resilience and harmony with the land, quietly standing guard over the savannah of the Barrens.

In the heart of Stormwind, the Cathedral of Light stands tall—a sacred bastion of the Holy Light. Raised under the guidance of Archbishop Benedictus and his mentor, Alonsus Faol, its hallowed halls now host some of the greatest champions of faith. Within, Archbishop Benedictus leads a cadre of priests and paladins. Duthorian Rall, the city's most revered paladin, and High Priestess Laurena, master of priestly arts, offer guidance to all who seek it. Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker trains paladins of great valor, while Brother Crowley, a shadowed figure, whispers of the Scarlet Crusade, seeking fresh recruits. Adventurers, nobles, and lovers alike are drawn to the Cathedral—not only for its wisdom but for ceremonies of union, echoing with solemn beauty. But beware... beneath the altar, hidden passageways lead to the catacombs—a library of secrets and a resting place for those long departed.

Caverns of Time

Caverns of Time

In the south, amid a mountain cluster, lies this mysterious place. Bronze dragons dwell here for reasons unknown. The Caverns of Time are home to Nozdormu and the bronze dragonflight. It is their sacred mission, one which was charged to them by the titans, to guard the caverns against the intrusion of mortals, whose interference would assuredly disrupt the flow of time. Rumors say that Nozdormu, the bronze dragon Aspect and Lord of time, makes his home here. Relics of past ages live half-buried in the sands near the entrance to this vast cave system. The bronze drakes of the mighty dragon Nozdormu patrol the borders, making sure that no mortals enter the sacred grounds at the cavern's entrance. Those who somehow slip past the drake guardians and enter the caverns have never returned quite the same — tales describe how some appear as old men, while others are reduced to infancy by the cavern's strange energies.

Darkmist Cavern

Darkmist Cavern

Darkmist Cavern is the name for a small mine in northwest Dustwallow Marsh that has become completely overrun with the terrifyingly large Darkmist Spiders. The inhabitants of Dustwallow can't seem to agree on whether the spiders were named after the cavern or if it's the other way around. There are ruins of small houses outside the mine, suggesting there might have previously been a small settlement there.

Darkshire Town Hall

The Darkshire Town Hall is the seat of rule for Darkshire's mayor. Before their treason to join the Veiled Hand, the town hall housed Lord Ello Ebonlocke, the former mayor, and the members of the Darkshire Council as well as historians and clerks. It is located on the western edge of the Darkshire town square. In the town hall, Clerk Daltry keeps records of the people that live and pass through the town, although some of his records are a little outdated

This gateway symbolises the main entrance to Darnassus. It provides access to the Teldrassil woods. The path to Dolanaar runs eastwards.

Deadman's Crossing

Deadman's Crossing is the eastern crossroads leading west to Duskwood, east towards the Swamp of Sorrows, and south to Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. It is marked with a hangman's tree still bearing a pair of corpses, as well as a signpost reading "Turn Back!" and "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here."

Deadwind Ravine is a craggy cleft running through the mountains south towards Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. The western road runs through the ravine on the upper level, and at the end of the area lies the southern bridge nearby the ominous tower.

Deadwood Village

Deadwood Village

Deadwood Village is a furbolg village of the Deadwood tribe in southern Felwood. Like most of their kin, the Deadwood furbolgs have been corrupted and are hostile. Deadwood Village is the home of the corrupted furbolgs of the Deadwood clan. This camp consists of little more than a mass of crude tents and basic wooden structures. Regardless, it is one of the two largest encampments of corrupted furbolgs, and the ones here are more dangerous than usual.

The Den of Flame is an area in Dustwallow Marsh, just west of the Stonemaul Ruins that has been completely overrun by dragonkin of the black dragonflight, presumably under the orders of the great black dragon Onyxia, who resides nearby. The structure was built by the Stonemaul ogres to be their ogre mound, as the architecture in the area corroborates, and as such it still contains a Stonemaul Banner.

Dire Maul was once a proud Highborne city called Eldre'Thalas (or Eldre'thalas), but now lies in ruins, overrun by ogres, satyrs, and undead. Eldre'Thalas was one of the capitals of Queen Azshara's Highborne servitors. Built twelve thousand years ago by a covert sect of night elf sorcerers, the ancient city of Eldre'Thalas was used to protect Queen Azshara's most prized arcane secrets. Within its walls, the elves lived in peace. Among them was a group of powerful arcanists known as the Shen'dralar. One of these powerful highborne was Millicent Serene whose crowning achievement was the Fruit of Fertility, a magical vine imbued with an aura of protection and growth. All of Eldre'Thalas flourished from its existence. Only a tiny remnant of the original Highborne population remains in the form of a murderous sect called the Shen'dralar. The ruins stand strong because of an ancient crafting technique that bound arcane energy within the stone.

Dor'Danil Barrow Den

Dor'Danil Barrow Den

The Dor'Danil Barrow Den is located in Ashenvale, south of Splintertree Post, and southwest of Felfire Hill. Although it has traditionally been the site of rest for night elven druids, the incursion of the Horde put the barrow den behind enemy lines. Although the orcs had little interest in a bunch of sleeping elves, the Forsaken who later joined the faction were not so disinterested. Experimenting with severing the sleeping druids from their spirits, they drove the night elves insane. The barrow den is now filled with skulking Forsaken assassins, the enraged souls of the severed druids, and three particularly powerful spirits — those of Uthil Mooncall (night elf druid ghost), Mavoris Cloudsbreak (night elf druid ghost), and Taneel Darkwood (night elf druid ghost).

Dream Bough

Dream Bough stands as a mighty Great Tree upon a secluded isle at the heart of Jademir Lake, nestled in the verdant wilds of northern Feralas. Like its kin, it is a sapling born of Nordrassil, the World Tree, and serves as a living conduit to the Emerald Dream. These sacred trees are vigilantly guarded by the green dragonflight, sworn protectors of the Dream, and are vessels of profound natural power. The Dream Bough itself is one such portal—a threshold between the waking world and the Dreaming realm. It was planted by the followers of Fandral Staghelm, who took a branch from Nordrassil to counteract the dark corruption of saronite that had begun to seep from the earth. This act of defiance sought to cleanse and stabilize the land, though not without consequence.

Dun Mandarr

Dun Mandarr

Dun Mandarr is a small base nearby an icy cavern in south-eastern Winterspring. The camp is overrun by ferocious moonkin and was set up by Jaron Stoneshaper, its dwarven origin obvious from the linguistic qualities of the cave's name. Jaron had discovered a Blue-Feathered Amulet, which enraged the wildkin and caused them to chase Jaron off and destroy his camp.

Dunemaul Compound

Dunemaul Compound

Dunemaul Compound is the stronghold of the Dunemaul ogres of Tanaris. It is a collection of huts set up around one of the few water holes in southern Tanaris. This place is home to the bronze-skinned Dunemaul ogres. Their leader, Gor'marok the Ravager, resides here in his cave. Unlike most ogres, the Dunemauls keep to themselves, probably because traveling across the desert requires more water than they can spare. They don't like visitors, however.

The Eastmoon Ruins is an area of ancient troll ruins found just west of the Gaping Chasm in Tanaris. It has been taken over by the by the Dunemaul ogres and is a troll archaeology dig site.

Echo Ridge Mine lies nestled in the northwestern reaches of Northshire Valley, deep within the heart of Elwynn Forest. Recently, the mine has fallen into the hands of kobolds, much to the dismay of the local human inhabitants. Navigating the mine is relatively straightforward, as the kobolds are defensive by nature and will not attack unless provoked. A winding path leads to the rear of the mine, opening into a spacious chamber. Adventurers may occasionally discover a chest here, often containing a few copper coins to aid their finances, and perhaps even a new weapon to bolster their arsenal.

The entrance on the Ashenvale side is found just west of Mystral Lake, while the entrance on the Stonetalon side is found in the northwestern part of Windshear Crag.

Wise travelers would bypass the site entirely if it were not the only passage through to Winterspring and Hyjal Summit. Timbermaw Hold is impressive, almost exclusively underground in a system of tunnels, it also contains simple wooden homes inside. Well-sculpted paths lead from Felwood to Moonglade and Winterspring; it contains tunnels to Azshara and Mount Hyjal as well, but those aren't available to everyone. The furbolgs here work with the druids of Moonglade frequently, and are some of the staunchest allies of the night elves and the Alliance.

Ethel Rethor is a night elven ruin in the far northwest of Desolace. Most of the ruins are located under-water with the exception of a lone tower with a small bridge leading to a closed entrance. These night elf ruins in northern Sar'theris Strand have been overtaken by the naga, who dwell in the ruins both above and below the water. A human mage named Azore Aldamorthas manages to keep the naga away from a massive, sealed tower that was probably created by the Highborne. While he is interested in the tower, he is more concerned with a missing artifact - The Scepter of Light. According to Azore, legends say that the scepter is powerful enough to sink entire cities. He believes the warlocks at Thunder Axe fortress have it. An Argent Dawn representative Azore Aldamorthas can be found here.

Everlook

Everlook

Everlook is a trading post run by the goblins of the Steamwheedle Cartel. It lies at the crossroads of Winterspring's main trade routes and contains a goblin laboratory. Everlook serves many purposes. First, it serves as the base of operations for goblin thorium and arcanite miners, since Winterspring has some of the few untapped veins of those materials on the continent. Second, it serves as a center of trade to all races and factions, including the Alliance and the Horde. While Everlook is hardly as safe as Moonglade, generally the two factions treat each other fairly well there. Everlook would offer a commanding view of Kalimdor, if it were not at such a high altitude that clouds constantly shroud the mountain's lower flanks. The recent success of Everlook has brought more adventurers into Winterspring, which the natives hope will aid them in defeating the threat of the demons of Darkwhisper Gorge.

Falfarren River's Bridge

Falfarren River's Bridge

The Falfarren River runs northeast to southwest across Ashenvale, and is approximately the dividing line between the night elven territory under Astranaar to the west, and the orcish territory under Splintertree Post to the east. It is not a terribly deep or wide river, though rainfall can cause it to swell. Several aggressive bog beasts can be found roaming below the surface of the river at sections around Felfire Hill. During the Cataclysm new bridges were built along the river. The water of the river originates from the slopes of Mount Hyjal, and passes through a series of waterfalls into the lake at Xavian, before it runs between Splintertree and Night Run southwest. It then runs past the primary and most well-traveled bridge spanning the Falfarren, continuing between Silverwing Outpost and the Moonwell of Cleansing across another bridge before it slips underground beneath the mountains of the northern Barrens.

Fallen Sky Lake is located in Ashenvale south of Silverwing Outpost, west of the Warsong Labor Camp, and northeast of Silverwing Grove. It is a small lake, and the island in the center in it holds a bog beast, one Shadethicket Oracle. Surrounding the lake are other weaker Shadethickets bog beasts

Far Watch Post

Far Watch Post is a small Horde outpost located just west of the bridge between Durotar and the Northern Barrens. It contains a watch tower, an orc burrow and a few catapults with its assortment of guards and helpers. A riding wolf pen watched over by a pair of peons is located directly south but it contains more chickens than wolves. Although not an accommodating spot, the outpost is vital for the protection of supply caravans, as well as keeping Durotar safe from from the Alliance as well as the centaur and quilboar threat of the Barrens.

The Fargodeep Mine, nestled in Elwynn Forest, is a once-thriving gold mine now overrun by kobolds. Its lower section, known as Lower Mines, offers both danger and opportunity for adventurers. Typically tackled by fresh adventurers, the mine’s quests guide you through the dark, damp tunnels, culminating in a confrontation with Goldtooth, a massive kobold. Along the way, adventurers will gather precious raw materials, large candles, and gold dust, often filling their bags with loot. The mine is also home to Narg the Taskmaster, a rare and powerful kobold.

Overseen by General Shandris Feathermoon who for the past ten thousand years has been Tyrande Whisperwind's right hand in the Sentinels, this stronghold is the only Alliance-held region in Feralas. The night elf outpost mainly occupies itself with searching for artifacts among the Highborne ruins and investigating the presence of the naga to the south. The stronghold is located off the west coast of Feralas, on Sardor Isle. Its population is 240. Feathermoon is most easily accessible by a boat taken from Feralas in the Forgotten Coast to an island dock. It has a hippogryph point and can be reached from Auberdine, Nijel's Point and Thalanaar.

Fel Rock is a now corrupted cave in Teldrassil. This once beautiful cave located just north of Dolanaar is home to the vicious satyr Lord Melenas who managed to amass a small army of grells led by Threggil, to protect him in his chosen lair. The night elf druid Tallonkai Swiftroot in Dolanaar is looking help from alliance adventurers to venture into this foreboding cave and destroy Lord Melenas.

Felpaw Village is a corrupted furbolg settlement that lies in the very north of Felwood, near the entrance of Timbermaw Hold. The village belongs to the Deadwood, a tribe of furbolgs that have been corrupted. Chieftain Bloodpaw, the Felpaw clan's leader, is located here and is protected by many of his shaman and guards. This village is the second largest corrupted furbolg camp in the region, and one of the largest anywhere. Satyrs also lurk close by

Fire Plume Ridge stands as the volcanic heart of Un'Goro Crater, its sides awash with flowing lava and teeming with fire elementals. At its peak, within a hidden cave, dwells Blazerunner, the mightiest of all fire elementals in Un'Goro. This fiery mountain forms a natural boundary where the jungle meets scorched earth, its lava flows carving a stark divide. Beneath the crater's bowl, shallow veins of magma heat the steam pools and geysers that dot Un'Goro. In the crater's center, rising from the foliage like a dark scar, is a cluster of volcanoes known as Fire Plume Ridge. Here, the jungle gives way to a landscape ravaged by relentless lava flows and fiery vents. Rogue fire elementals wander the area, and the oppressive heat is ever-present. The lava likely touches underground streams to the west, creating steamy, bubbling pools riddled with scalding geysers.

Fire Scar Shrine is located in southwestern Ashenvale, southwest of Astranaar, south of the Shrine of Aessina, and west of the Ruins of Stardust. It has been corrupted by the demonic influence of the Shadow Council, and is now a place of great evil. A powerful orcish warlock, Ilkrud Magthrull, makes his residence at the shrine in service to the leader of the Cult of the Dark Strand, Athrikus Narassin. A rare doomguard named Akkrilus sometimes prowls in the area.

Also known as the Guard Quarters, it is the city's military center. People train at the Training Grounds at its doors: the guards against practice dummies and the young recruits against each other. There are always priests watching carefully, ready to call upon the Light for healing the instant anyone was injured. The Horde hero Rexxar and his companions battled their way to Foothold Citadel, at the city's center, and slew Daelin Proudmoore on the steps of his city. The squat keep houses the chambers of the Alliance Assembly. It also serves as a room for trials.

Forest Song lies in the northeastern reaches of Ashenvale, nestled just northeast of Satyrnaar, north of the Warsong Lumber Camp, and southwest of Bough Shadow. This ancient Kaldorei ruin, nearly abandoned, is eerily silent, with the usual forest sounds conspicuously absent. The sole inhabitant, Kayneth Stillwind, a night elf, seeks aid from Alliance adventurers. He needs brave souls to infiltrate the forsaken camp near Dor'Danil Barrow Den, where the undead concoct vile poisons and diseases. The mission: to retrieve a sample of this malevolent brew, return it so he can uncover its purpose. Despite the picturesque surroundings and apparent lack of immediate danger, a palpable sense of foreboding pervades the ruins. The air is heavy with darkness and menace, casting a shadow over the once vibrant forest.

Frostsaber Rock rises in northern Winterspring, a jagged peak sacred to the night elves. At its summit stands Rivern Frostwind of the Wintersaber Trainers, offering Alliance allies a rare opportunity: earn his trust, and he will teach them to tame and ride the majestic frostsabers. These elusive felines roam the snowy heights nearby, revered for their grace and strength. While the rock contains a small cave, it serves not the beasts, but those who seek to bond with them. Hopeful trainers camp atop the cliffs, striving to prove their worth. Legends speak of Shy'Rotam, greatest of the frostsabers—those fortunate enough to glimpse this noble creature are said to carry its blessing for a lifetime.

Fungal Rock is a large cavern in the northeastern wall of Un'Goro Crater. The cavern is filled with gorillas, which have made their home, and Ghost Mushrooms. Outside the entrance is a small pool of water with a waterfall. Along the northeastern wall, not far from Marshal's Refuge, lies this cave complex where the savage Un'Goro apes dwell. Among the few mammals encountered in the crater, these beasts defended their territory ruthlessly, driving off any reptiles that try to approach. A member of Marshal's Expedition named Kara Remtravel dedicates herself to studying these apes, and she is building a mechanical ape to get a closer look at their society.

Furlbrow's Pumpkin Patch is one of the many farms in Westfall that has been taken over by the Defias Brotherhood and their mechanical harvesters. Now the killing machines patrol the fields and Defias have taken up residence in the farm buildings. Farmer Furlbrow and his wife have fled and can be found on the road near The Jansen Stead in northern Westfall.

Gelkis Village is a centaur village located just to the east and slightly south of Shadowprey Village in southwestern Desolace. It is the principal village of the Gelkis clan, and is situated in a ring around a large ravine. A cluster of cliffs and bluffs in the ravine are connected by a series of bridges and lead to Bolgan's Hole, a cave in the southern mountain face of Desolace. The Gelkis Khan resides within this cave. The entire village is directly adjacent to Desolace's main north-south road and is thus a hazard for many travelers. The seer Uthek the Wise has realized the importance of allies and has temporarily set aside racial prejudice, recruiting adventurers from the world over to aid in the battle with the Gelkis clan's mortal enemy: the Magram centaur clan. She will reward anyone who proves themselves to the Gelkis.

Ghost Walker Post is a small tauren outpost established in central Desolace directly adjacent to the Kodo Graveyard. It is one of two Horde outposts in the region, though Ghost Walker Post is much more exposed to danger compared to Shadowprey Village and its relatively secure location. It is from Ghost Walker Post that the Horde wages its war on the Burning Blade and their servants in Desolace as well as the various centaur tribes. The leader of Ghost Walker Post is Gurda Wildmane, a tauren shaman. Gurda and the other shamans ease the nearby kodo into their next lives and sometimes communicate with the spirits of dead kodo. There is also a contingent of orcs here, sent by Thrall. Ghost Walker Post is home to only the bare necessities of adventuring in Desolace, lacking so much as an inn or a wind rider master.

Gnarlpine Hold lies in the far southwest corner of Teldrassil. It is home to the Gnarlpine furbolgs. The Gnarlpines, lead by the powerful Ursal the Mauler, have abducted several Druids of the Claw and hold them in thrall.

It is the home of the Foulweald tribe, led by Chief Murgut and the shaman Oakpaw. Both Horde and Alliance adventurers frequently come to Greenpaw to battle the corrupted bearmen.

Grimtotem Post is the base of Grimtotem tribe operations in Stonetalon Mountains. Many different types, such as Brutes, Ruffians, Sorcerers, and Mercenaries patrol the post and nearby areas. The Grimtotem here are led by the fierce Grundig Darkcloud. The Grimtotem tribe is a tribe of dissident taurens who do not share Cairne Bloodhoof's ideals of uniting the clans and instead focus on seeking retribution for the wrongs imposed on them in recent history.

Within its walls reside the Kor'kron Guard—elite warriors sworn to protect the Warchief—as well as Orgrimmar’s foremost shamans, with Thrall himself as their spiritual anchor. Outside, a solemn monument marks the orcs’ liberation from demonic corruption: the skull and armor of Mannoroth, fel lord and nemesis of their kind, rest beneath an ancient tree, a lasting tribute to Grom’s sacrifice and the rebirth of the orcish soul. Grommash Hold is built not for grandeur, but for strength, purpose, and honor—echoing the values of those who lead the Horde within.

Hetaera's Clutch is a grand underwater temple dedicated to Elune, nestled in the Bay of Storms off the coast of Azshara. This sacred site is inhabited by Hetaera's offspring, the formidable hydras. Hetaera herself is often seen swimming north of her lair, occasionally venturing onto two small islands. She claims dominion over these waters, ruthlessly slaying many of Lord Arkkoroc's progeny. Declaring herself the sovereign of the oceans, Hetaera is deemed a false deity by Lord Arkkoroc, who seeks to sever her three heads.

Those just beginning to follow the path of the shaman are tasked with finding this secret route through the mountains that border the Valley of Trials. Aside from providing shaman with access to the mystical Spirit Rock, the Hidden Path provides a good view of the Barrens from its highest point. There is also a low point that can be used to get to Ratchet or Orgrimmar, and could be used by Alliance to get into the Valley of Trials.

Guarding the west road between Sun Rock Retreat and the Crossroads, Honor's Stand consists of a number of burrows, some badly damaged, as well as watch towers. Honor's Stand is a Horde-controlled outpost located on the western edge of the Barrens. Perched near the border with Stonetalon Mountains, it serves as a strategic military position. The outpost consists of a few watchtowers, tents, and fortified structures manned by Horde soldiers. Its primary role is to monitor Alliance activity and protect the Barrens from incursions. Tension runs high in the area, as skirmishes with the Alliance are common, especially with nearby Battlescar Valley. The surrounding terrain is rugged and dry, dotted with thorny vegetation and red rock formations.

The Howling Vale is a cavern nestled in north-central Ashenvale, just southwest of Felwood's border. This mystical vale houses the Shrine of Mel'Thandris, adorned with an ancient inscription that venerates Elune. The shrine bears the Darnassian phrase, "The truth is a guiding light." Constructed by Velinde Starsong's mother, Mel'Thandris's niece, the shrine holds great historical significance. Mel'Thandris was entrusted with the Scythe of Elune after it was used to imprison the Druids of the Scythe. Following Mel'Thandris's demise in the final battle of the War of the Satyr, the scythe was safeguarded within this sacred site.

Iris Lake is located in north-central Ashenvale, east of Astranaar and west of Shael'dryn's moonwell. It is one of the many areas of the night elven forest which fell to the corruption of Felwood. The water of the lake was a sickly yellowish green, and twisted bog beasts roamed the area, attacking anyone who visited seeking one of Elune's Tears.

Ironstone Camp is a small Horde camp at the border of the Shimmering Flats. This small group of Horde was sent to drive out the dwarven excavators from the Rustmaul Digsite, but got much more than they bargained for when the Silithid erupted from a nearby cave and attacked them. One of the members present, Moktar Krin, sends out other members of the Horde to kill the Silithid infesting the digsite.

The isle of Dread is the home to a group of naga who dwelled in a cave at the northern end. They are led by Lord Shalzaru. The cave itself seems to have a unique design and goes quite deep. There is a secret underwater passageway that leads into an inner chamber, although it has no apparent special uses besides being the location in which Lady Szallah resided.

Itharius's Cave

Itharius's Cave

Itharius's Cave is the current residence of the mysterious high elf Itharius. It is located in the far southwestern corner of the Swamp of Sorrows. The area outside the cave is filled with unruly green whelps, which Itharius has taken it upon himself to watch over while they grow. Itharius is a dragon who serves as the green dragonflight ambassador with the Wyrmrest Accord. His brother Eranikus, the consort of Ysera, was one of the first dragons to succumb to the Emerald Nightmare's corruption. He seems almost to be 'baby sitting' a flock of rather cantankerous green whelps. When the green dragons in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar were driven mad by both the Emerald Nightmare and the Atal'ai, Itharius called for help from the Cenarion Circle who in turn sent a force from the Alliance to clear the temple.

Jadefire Glen is an encampment of demonic satyr in southern Felwood.

Jadefire Run

Jadefire Run

Jadefire Run is a satyr encampment in northern Felwood. The most powerful satyr in the region make their home here, so exercise caution when adventuring in the area. Jadefire Run is a large satyr camp located near Felpaw Village in Felwood. This camp is likely the staging point for assaults on the nearby Timbermaw furbolgs. The satyrs here are also likely the source of the continuing corruption of the Felpaws, and they might also have their eyes on corrupting or killing the Timbermaws as well.

Jaggedswine Farm

Jaggedswine Farm is one of several pig farms located near the front gates of Orgrimmar in the orcish homeland of Durotar. This farm, which is partially surrounded by the Dranosh'ar Blockade, contains a storage house, a large pig pen, and a pond. The swine from this farm are a source of food for the Horde.

Also known as the Citadel, this mage tower is Theramore's tallest structure. The building has wooden floors on its many stories, which are connected by long, winding stairs. It has many rooms, including Jaina's private quarters (which probably house dozens of books), her extensive library (which houses hundreds of books) and Theramore's little throne room (which has a window with a view). There is a magically concealed secret entrance to the tower. With walls warded with all kind of protective magics, it is a solid fortress against such attacks.

Jangolode Mine was one of the key sources in Westfall of minerals for Stormwind City. The Defias Brotherhood has taken over the mine. Since the soldiers of Stormwind are busy fighting the Horde on the front lines, they do not have enough soldiers available to dislodge the Defias.

Jasperlode Mine

Jasperlode Mine, like Fargodeep Mine, was one of the key mining sites in Elwynn Forest, providing Stormwind City with valuable raw materials needed in the wars. Lately, however, the mine has been overrun by kobolds, and with all the soldiers tied up on the front lines against the Horde, Stormwind does not have the manpower to drive the vermin out. Unfortunately for the kobolds, the deepest recesses of this mine have been overrun by a colony of Mine Spiders who apparently see the hapless kobolds as a tasty snack. Although these spiders do not venture far from their nest, adventurers should beware as their queen, Mother Fang, does not approve of any uninvited guests.

Jerod's Landing

Jerod's Landing is a boat landing on the Elwynn Forest bank of the Nazferiti River. The landing has recently been taken over by the Defias Brotherhood, and they use it to smuggle stolen goods from Redridge to Klaven's Tower in Westfall. The entire region near Jerod's Landing is crawling with Defias rogues and bandits, making it quite hazardous to cross through for inexperienced adventurers.

Karazhan, the twisted tower of Deadwind Pass, rises from a nexus of ley lines where reality itself once tore apart. Built in secret by the Guardian Aegwynn and later inhabited by her doomed son Medivh, the citadel has long been a wellspring of arcane power — and madness. Within its haunted halls, echoes of lavish feasts, forbidden rituals, and spectral duels linger. The corruption of Sargeras, the fall of Medivh, and the slaughter of innocents have left the tower cursed, its halls warped by visions and tormented souls. Though Medivh is gone, shadows endure. The Violet Eye watches, the Dark Riders prowl, and the tower’s hunger remains. All ley lines once led here — and something still stirs beneath its foundations.

Kargathia Keep

Kargathia Keep (or Kargathia Outpost) is located in eastern Ashenvale, in the eastern part of the Warsong Lumber Camp just west of the Southfury River. It is the base of operations for the officers of the Warsong Clan, and has a strategic position that lets it receive reinforcements from Orgrimmar should a battle with the Alliance break out. The keep, much like Kargath in the Badlands, and Bladefist Bay in Durotar, is named for the legendary orcish hero Kargath Bladefist. Overseer Gorthak, the orc in charge of the camp, can be found here. The building is a stronghold and is seemingly upgraded with spiked barricades.

Klaven's Tower

Klaven's Tower, named after its rogue Defias master Klaven Mortwake, lies at the southeastern edge of Westfall near the river and north of the Dagger Hills. SI:7 has been scouting this tower for some time and sometimes seeks help from adventurous rogues to sneak in and gather intelligence. It is a well known launching point for Defias activity such that it has also been called the "Defias Tower". Klaven's Tower is being used, along with Jerod's Landing in Elwynn Forest, in the smuggling of stolen goods from Redridge.

The Kodo Graveyard is a large gaveyard that is final resting place of the Kodo, location in Desolace. Mighty as the reptilian kodo beasts are, they are not immortal. Those that feel the approach of death make their way through the Thousand Needles to the plains in eastern Desolace, where they eventually perish. No one knows why the kodo beasts come to this particular place, but it is a habit long maintained. The area is filled with bones as well as the sick and the dying. It is far from peaceful, however, as everything from scavenging raptors to mighty lions come to feast upon the aged kodo beasts.

Kodo Rock is a natural monument near Camp Narache that tauren shaman needed to go to for one of their early adventures. The rock could only be seen from a short distance so one needed to pay attention.

Kolkar Village

Kolkar Village is the center of power for the Kolkar clan of centaur. The village located on the eastern margin of Desolace between Sargeron to the north and Magram Village to the south. The Kolkars are the most prolific of the centaur clans in Kalimdor, having villages and outposts in both the Barrens and Durotar, so a blow to their base of power at the village in Desolace would be a strategic move for their enemies.

Kormek's Hut is a small hovel surrounded by barren flats in north-central Desolace. It is inhabited by the odd pair of Willow and Bibbly F'utzbuckle. Willow, who can be found inside the hut, is a friendly member of the Twilight's Hammer. Bibbly greatly enjoys dancing around in the pen outside, excited by the potential profit of kodo bones (which also litter the pen).

Lake Elune'ara is located near the center of the Moonglade. The reflective water of this massive lake resembles starlight and moonshine, giving the body of water its legendary name. Perhaps the water is blessed by Elune, for it is some of the most pure and healthy on all Kalimdor. Many travelers come to the Moonglade simply to taste the waters of this lake, and the druids may allow them to fill several waterskins for their journey. Water this fresh is a luxury that cannot be found often in anyone's travels. Nighthaven rests on its waters.

Lake Falathim is located in western Ashenvale, southeast of the Zoram Strand and southwest of Maestra's Post. In this lake the goddess's moonlight always touches down, day or night. Although it was once a popular place for night elves to go swim or fish, the lake was later overrun with ferocious murlocs. The scholar Teronis was last seen near the lake, and it boded ill of his fate that he never returned.

Lake Kel'Theril is a small frozen lake in central Winterspring. The shores of the lake are home to the Ruins of Kel'Theril, which along with the lake itself is populated by many tormented spirits of the Highborne. Once the site of a Highborne city, Kel'theril was reduced to a lake in the Sundering, and subsequently froze over in the following years. Many of the city's pillars are partially above the water line, but much of the city is submerged and encased in ice. Lake Kel'theril is now the largest body of water in Winterspring, and the ghosts of the Highborne that died there haunt the lake.

Lake Mennar is one of the few places in the world where the blue dragonflight can be found outside of Northrend. Although most of the region on all sides of the lake is inhabited by dragonspawn, the actual lake itself is free from danger and can provide solace and refreshment to those who are brave enough to get through the perimeter dragonkin.

The Lakeshire Inn in Redridge Mountains is a well-known establishment, and has kept its warm atmosphere despite the town's beleagured state. It is a popular spot to sit down and have a chat and a drink of wine or ale, and the inn also offers bedrest to the weary traveler.

The Lakeshire Town Hall in the Redridge Mountains is an old building that has been diligently refurbished several times. The town hall is commonly the seat of rule by the local magistrate, and the current magistrate, Solomon, is a kind and wise ruler. The town's problems with gnolls and Blackrock orcs has put him in a state of desperation, however, and he readily accepts aid from helpful adventurers.

In the north central area of Un'Goro, in the area of sparsest tree cover, lie these curious lakes of black tar. Creatures that venture too close get stuck and perish in the dark depths. The bones of perhaps thousands of reptiles and other beasts lie strewn about the place, some of them ancient. Flowers, Tarblossoms grow at the bottom of these pits, which have gone unnoticed for a long time. Tar beasts live in the area among several giant bones of creatures that got stuck here. The only creatures that remain around the Lakkari Tar Pits are those that get stuck in its grip and scavengers looking for easy prey. The bones of hundreds of beasts jut out from the surface of the tar strewn across the shore

Lariss Pavilion

Lariss Pavillion is a large outdoor night elf style building in Feralas just north of Camp Mojache. The nearby dryads that are usually peaceful have been corrupted by the Emerald Nightmare and now attack anyone. The Pavilion is home to a mysterious man named Azj'Tordin. Apparently a Highborne who disagreed with Prince Tortheldrin, he left Dire Maul via means of a backdoor located at the bottom of the Pavilion, but not before an imp by the name of Pusillin stole his book of incantations. Along the western rim of the pavillion is a downward spiral ramp whose northern area has the door to The Hidden Reach. This door can only be accessed by use of the Crescent Key. Once open, there is a winding tunnel that goes down to an instance portal. Once crossed, there is a corridor that leads to the easternmost portion of Dire Maul East. The area is guarded by Lashers and Satyrs.

Lion's Pride Inn (also known as the Goldshire Inn) is an inn found in the town of Goldshire, in Elwynn Forest. According to Innkeeper Farley, the inn's motto is "Rest and relaxation for the tired and cold. The inn has been run by the Farley family for years, since the time of King Llane Wrynn I, and they take great effort to run an above-board business. Lion's Pride offers a wide range of services from class trainers and quest givers to drinks aplenty.

Lost Point is a run-down, decrepit scout tower built by the humans of Theramore. It is located in western Dustwallow Marsh, and is currently inhabited by Theramore deserters. Balos Jacken is these deserters' leader, and has information about Private Hendel's part in the kidnapping of a very important personality.

Protected by mountains on three sides, Lost Rigger Cove is the hideout of the Southsea Pirates on the coast of Tanaris. Agents of the Steamwheedle Cartel constantly attempt to disrupt the pirates' shipbuilding operations here. Killing Southsea Pirates will earn reputation with Gadgetzan.

Maestra's Post is located in western Ashenvale, south of the Ruins of Ordil'Aran and northwest of Astranaar. It is a small camp consisting of a tower and a large night elven building with only a few inhabitants, including Ashenvale's only population of humans - Feero Ironhand and Delgren the Purifier. The Alliance forces attempt to deal with both the corruption of the nearby furbolgs and they will solicit help from willing adventurers.

Magram Village is a centaur village, home of the Magram clan. It is located in the southeastern area of Desolace on the shores and islands of a series of polluted yellow pools. Crude bridges connect the islands to each other and the shore. Adventurers can choose to ally with the Magram clan in their ongoing war against the Gelkis clan.

Malaka'jin is a Horde village in the Stonetalon Mountains, just south of the Grimtotem Post. It houses a small community of troll hunters who make a modest income by selling their catches to passing Horde adventurers. Inside this troll encampment, night elves are being held by the witch doctor Jin'Zil, who seeks ingredients for his voodoo potions. Even so, there aren't enough trolls here to be a great threat to the elves.

Manor Mistmantle is the stead of Stalvan Mistmantle. It is located in northeastern Duskwood, north of Darkshire and west of Beggar's Haunt. Stalvan Mistmantle was a former school teacher and personal tutor who is now an agent of the undead. The manor grounds are rotten and overrun by Stalvan's ghoulish minions. The only sign of life on the property is a single flower in the garden, known as the Tear of Tilloa.

Maraudon

Maraudon consists of three wings (the Wicked Grotto, Foulspore Cavern, and Earth Song Falls). It is a combination of ancient centaur burial grounds, as well as a primal temple dedicated to the elemental earth. According to legend, Zaetar, son of Cenarius, and the earth elemental princess Theradras begot the barbaric centaur race. Shortly after the centaur's creation, the ruthless creatures murdered their father. The grief-stricken Theradras is said to have trapped her lover's spirit within Maraudon, corrupting the region. Now, vicious centaur ghosts and twisted elemental minions roam every corner of the sprawling caves. Following the Horde's rise to power, Theradras worried that her centaur children might be driven to extinction. She infused them with her power and drove them to claim new territories outside of Desolace. The Magram centaur clan—the only clan not loyal to Theradras— claims that Maraudon was the source of the corruption in the region.

The closest thing to a town in Un'Goro Crater is Marshal's Refuge, the cavern in the north where Williden's people stay during their tenure in the crater. a semi-permanent home in Un'Goro. All they have are ramshackle storage sheds and a communal tent to shunt the rain away. Here these stalwart explorers live a primitive existence as they study the crater. Although among them they have the means to improve their settlement, none of them has bothered to spend the time doing so. They are too busy with their research. If you visit the place, better bring your own supplies — they only have enough to support themselves.

Master's Glaive

The Master's Glaive is a mysterious monument, a massive adamantine glaive buried in an unmovable boulder called the Old God Skull. The night elves consider this a sacred area, as they believe the mysterious titans, creators of the world, are the only ones who could have wielded the gigantic glaive. It appears as a snail shell-like skull, with a massive weapon embedded in the crown. It is believed that a titan killed one of the Old Gods or one of their minions here. This unusual monument is surrounded by a small lake. While it was once a night elf holy place, the area is now under the control of the Twilight's Hammer. They believe the statue is some sort of divine corpse — the remains of an Old God. The term "Master's Glaive" refers to part of the monument — the sword embedded in the skull. The being is also described as a "dead" forgotten one in Ashenvale at the Master's Glaive.

Mazthoril is a huge and deep icy cavern — populated by blue dragons — located near the central part of Winterspring, not far from Lake Kel'Theril or Everlook. The Caverns of Mazthoril are the home of Kalimdor's blue dragonflight. The blue dragonspawn General Cobaltann guards it and the blue dragon matron Haleh oversees it. The traditional home of the blue dragonflight is Northrend, but more and more dragons migrate to the caverns of Mazthoril in Winterspring. This migration occurs for two main reasons: first, because of the growing concern about another imminent attack on the World Tree Nordrassil; and second, to retreat from the Scourge, which some dragons see as a threat the dragonflight is not prepared to conquer. In both locations, the dragons inhabit massive tunnel systems, where they study magic and prepare for battle against the black dragonflight, the Scourge and other dangers.

The Mirage Raceway (or Mirage Racetrack) was built by the goblin Pozzik and gnome Fizzle Brassbolts as a result of their rivalry to prove the superiority of their respective race. The two also built rocket cars and enlisted teams to drive them. It is a race track, deep within the dry lake bed known as the Shimmering Flats. After the end of the Third War, both the goblins and gnomes decided that the large alkali desert known as the Shimmering Flats near Thousand Needles would be a perfect place to test their new rocket designs. Goblin and gnome tinkers labored constantly to perfect the ultimate racing machines. At regular intervals, they participated in trials of their creations, and twice monthly the Mirage Raceway hosted a series of events to determine which side was the best. While no prizes were officially awarded, being "the best" was usually enough. Besides, there was plenty of betting going on behind the scenes to make a shrewd gambler a tidy fortune.

Although the trees growing here used to produce fresh fruit, they had all been picked and eaten by Defias Bandits who had taken possession of the orchard as well as the nearby cottage. Whoever lived here has long gone, another victim of the growing banditry in the region... until recently.

Misty Reed Post is a small Horde outpost of Stonard in the Swamp of Sorrows. It lies between the Stagalbog and the southern Misty Reed Strand. It is guarded by Tok'Kar, along with Katar, some Stonard Hunters and a Stonard Shaman. Tok'Kar dreams that one day the post will get a burrow or at least a tower.

Moonbrook lies in the shadowed heart of Westfall, southwest of Sentinel Hill—a ghost town under the grip of the Defias Brotherhood. Once a thriving farming hub before the First War, it fell to the Horde alongside Goldshire in the final days before Stormwind’s sacking. Though rebuilt after the Second War, the town was later abandoned and seized by the Defias during their rise. Now, it serves as a covert access point to their stronghold: the Deadmines. Among the ruined structures stands the Moonbrook Inn, housing the neutral Defias Profiteer—an elusive merchant who sells basic leather gear, offers repairs, and greets all travelers, Horde or Alliance. The western residence of the Cooper family still stands, and in the derelict schoolhouse, forgotten documents hint at the dark past of instructor Stalvan Mistmantle. Near the outskirts, Foreman Thistlenettle once managed the local mine for the Explorers’ League—before the Brotherhood claimed it all

Moonwells are bound to the magic of nature and the moonlight of Elune and are known as places of healing for both the land around them and those who drink of their waters, possessing extraordinary restorative properties. Magi and other spellcasters can refresh their mana in these pools — a gift from Elune to Azeroth's other defenders.

Mor'shan Base Camp, one of the more sizable Horde settlements in the Northern Barrens, is located just south of the Ashenvale-Barrens border, near the Mor'shan Rampart. It is the base of the Warsong Outriders and also the location of the Horde entrance to the Warsong Gulch battleground. Mor'shan Base Camp is a fortified outpost nestled between the Barrens and Ashenvale. Guarded by high wooden palisades and spiked barricades, it serves as a critical Horde military post. Inside, a watchtower rises above the camp, offering a clear view of the road and surrounding forest. Tents and wooden structures provide shelter and supplies for soldiers. Gargok is an orc Warsong Gulch battlemaster found at the Mor'shan Base Camp of the Northern Barrens. He appears to be the leader of the Warsong Outriders.

Morgan's Plot is a forsaken chapel nestled in the shadow of Karazhan, deep within the haunted Deadwind Pass. Weatherworn and crumbling, the church stands amid a desolate graveyard, its crypt sunken beneath the hill. Here, restless spirits linger—Unliving Residents haunt the grounds, and one roams the path below, ever watchful. Adventurers fallen within Karazhan find their spirits drawn to this site, revived by the local spirit healer. Legends claim the crypt holds the remains of the mighty Medivh and his mother, Aegwynn, their legacy saturating the soil with forgotten power and sorrow.

Morlos'Aran was once a great night elf settlement, long before the Great Sundering. It is located at the southern edge of Felwood. There are similar ruins located nearby, at Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran in Darkshore, Ordil'Aran in Ashenvale, and Tethris'Aran in Desolace. Once thriving cities, now these ruins only serve as a reminder of the golden age that was lost long ago.

Mystral Lake (or Lake Mystral) is located in south-central Ashenvale, just south of Silverwind Refuge and east of Talondeep Vale. It is the largest lake in the forest, and subsequently often visited by both Horde and Alliance adventurers. The water elementals of Mystral Lake pose a significant threat to inexperienced adventurers: while they were previously loyal to the night elves, they were corrupted by Sarilus Foulborne.

Nat's Landing is the name of Nat Pagle's newly renovated fishing spot in the Dustwallow Bay of Dustwallow Marsh. It features a tent for shelter, a couple of fish racks to hang catches from, some rods and reels below a lantern nailed to a tree, and a small rickety dock from which Nat fishes.

Night Run is located in east-central Ashenvale, east of Raynewood Retreat and northwest of Splintertree Post. It's inhabited by the Felmusk satyr. Shortly after the Sundering, Arvell and Ralaar in Pack Form attacked the Sentinels battling the satyrs, killing Aldorei, Elanu, Morina, Tyrnas and wounding Shandris. The attack marked the beginning of the War of the Satyr. It is one of the three Ashenvale satyr settlements, the other two being Satyrnaar and Xavian. Of the three, Night Run is by far the smallest, boasting only a few broken pillars and pieces of ruined architecture as shelter for the satyr who live there. Here is one of the soulgems belonging to the Cult of the Dark Strand, which the Satyr are allied with. It is located on a naze that juts out into the land with unclimbable cliffs on the side. To get to Night Run, one has to run along the Falfarren River almost to the waters of Xavian before turning west, or approach it from a narrow ledge north of Raynewood.

Nijel's Point is an Alliance outpost located in the northern mountains of Desolace. It features both human and night elven population and structures, and holds flight paths to Feathermoon Stronghold, Theramore Isle, and Lor'danel. Nijel's Point is one of the only Alliance camps in Desolace, overseen by the Alliance military and led by Captain Pentigast. In addition, Remulos, son of Cenarius, has dispatched members of his Cenarion Circle here to try recover Zaetar's remains from Maraudon. The Noonshade Ruins are ancient troll ruins located to the east of Gadgetzan in northeastern Tanaris and is overrun by Wastewander bandits.

North Point Tower

North Point Tower was built by Theramore in northern Dustwallow Marsh, near a well-traveled stretch of road. It is staffed by a sizable contingent of Theramore Guards who have imprisoned a blood elf of the Horde here. The prisoner has a friend in Brackenwall Village who pleads passerbies to rescue her. The scout tower is the most distant of Theramore's outpost since the deserters took over Lost Point.

Northshire Abbey

Northshire Abbey

Northshire Abbey, nestled in the foothills of Elwynn Forest within the Kingdom of Stormwind, is home to the Brotherhood of Northshire, a religious order of clerics. The abbey is composed of three key areas: the Main Hall, Hall of Arms, and the Library Wing. It serves as a training ground for mages, priests, warriors, paladins, and warlocks, with trainers scattered across the abbey grounds, including a graveyard to the east and a rogue trainer hidden near the stable. Historically, the abbey was a stronghold for the Holy Order of Northshire Clerics. During the First War, the abbey became a bastion for Stormwind's forces under Archbishop Alonsus Faol. It was destroyed in a brutal orcish attack, later becoming the base for Cho'Gall's Twilight's Hammer clan during the Second War. Despite rebuilding, the abbey remains plagued by kobold infestations, bandits, and dangerous creatures in its depths. Northshire Abbey is both a place of learning and a reminder of its tumultuous past.

The Northshire Vineyards are located just northeast of Northshire Abbey in Elwynn Forest. The vineyards have been taken over by agents of the Defias Brotherhood and their leader, Garrick Padfoot. It is here that human players have their first encounter with the Brotherhood, fighting their minions and retrieving the stolen property of Milly Osworth.

Northshire River flows from the mountains east of Stormwind City, through Northshire Valley, and eventually empties its waters into Crystal Lake in Elwynn Forest.

Northwatch Hold is a massive Alliance fortress located between the Merchant Coast in the Southern Barrens and Dustwallow Marsh. Following years of destructive warfare, it is one of two Alliance positions held in the Barrens, the other being Bael Modan. Grim forces — soldiers loyal to Jaina Proudmoore's father Admiral Daelin Proudmoore — man the Hold, much like Tiragarde Keep in Durotar. Due to the events following the Third War and Jaina's decision to forge an alliance with the orcs, which eventually resulted in Admiral Proudmoore's death, the soldiers here harbor a hatred of the Horde and attack its people and outposts often. It is important to note that Jaina Proudmoore openly opposes their actions, which causes strife in the area's Alliance politics. Northwatch's location is strategic, blocking the coastal approaches to Dustwallow from the north, forcing any Horde assault to travel south and navigate the marshes if they wanted to reach Theramore Isle.

Onyxia's Lair

Onyxia is the daughter of the mighty Black Aspect, Deathwing, and sister of the scheming Nefarian, Lord of Blackrock Spire. Whereas her father favors brute force, and her brother creates twisted abominations to carry out his will, Onyxia prefers subtle manipulation, and delights in meddling in the political affairs of mortals, using her charm and power to influence such delicate matters between the different races to her own ends. Most recently, she very nearly succeeded in destroying the political structure of Stormwind in the guise of Katrana Prestor, before being unmasked by Marshal Windsor and fleeing to her lair: a fiery cave below the Dragonmurk. Onyxia built the lair. The entrance to the lair was carved to look like the maw of the broodmother herself, with its inner pathway being magma-lined and the ground cracked, glowing with fire from beneath. The arching stone ceiling groans and shifts, creating constant rockfalls. The walls spill lava where the heat can't be contained.

Palemane Rock

Palemane Rock

Palemane Rock is a cave in western Mulgore inhabited by gnolls of the Palemane tribe. They are aggressive creatures and will attack any who wander too close. The gnolls live both inside the cave and in a camp outside, and the cave itself stretches fairly deep into the mountainside. The gnolls slay Mulgore's wildlife and the tauren tried to speak with them but failed. Thus the tauren send adventurers to cull their numbers.

Rage Scar Hold is a dug in cave in northwestern Feralas. It contains the most vicious yetis in the area. Books and symbols within the cave seem to indicate the Yetis are studying this kind of magic unless it was owned by some unfortunate magi in the past. The contents of the cave and night elven architecture deeper within it possibly indicate it as a former night elf barrow den. Being as there are no night elves within the cave and no one seems to mention it as being so, the fate of the inhabitants after the yetis moved in seems to be bleak.

Ranazjar Isle is a small, rocky island off the northwest coast of Desolace, inhabited by the serpentine naga. On the isle, there are night elven ruins that seem to be part of the same ancient city as those of Ethel Rethor. This island has a statue of Queen Azshara.

Ratchet on Kalimdor’s central east coast, is run by goblins and shows it. Built from equal parts of industry and decadence, the goblin port city of Ratchet sprawls along nearly a mile of coastline where the eastern Barrens poke between Durotar and the Dustwallow Marsh to the sea. Ratchet is a trade city where you can find almost anything you desire. Ratchet also has regular ferries that traverse the safe though roundabout route to the island stronghold of Theramore to the south. It is a city of entertainment and trade. Ratchet is Kalimdor’s largest port. Pirate vessels receive amnesty in Ratchet’s waters, bringing an influx of the disreputable and violent. Indeed, Ratchet is a hotspot, as races of all types and members of all social economic strata rub shoulders in the bazaars. Ratchet is currently run by Gazlowe, the Overseer of Ratchet, of the Steamwheedle Cartel under the watchful eye of the trade princes, who give him considerably free reign.

The Ravaged Caravan is a ruined Venture Company camp on the northeastern shore of Stonebull Lake. The caravan is what's left of a conflict between the tauren and the Venture Co. after the tauren saw them traveling throughout Mulgore. The caravan's initial goal was to deliver more supplies to Supervisor Fizsprocket's mining endeavor. It now sits on a mound, spewing out black smoke. The remaining company aggressively defends the smoldering remains of their precious cargo.

The Ravencrest Monument marks the remains of a huge statue in Azshara, referred to by Torg Twocrush as an "ancient night elven colossus". Located southeast of the Ruins of Eldarath, what is left of the time-worn statue rests atop cliffs on the tip of Azshara's southern point, overlooking the Great Sea. Undoubtedly an impressive site long ago, the statue now lies in ruins. Only the broken-off legs still stand, with various other parts scattered on the ground around them. Presumably, the rest has become buried, or sunk beneath the waves of the sea below. The ruins are inhabited by the hostile Spitelash tribe of naga. The Ravencrest Monument cannot be accessed by sea. Travelers seeking to visit the site must approach it from inland and cross a bridge.

Raynewood Retreat is located in north-central Ashenvale, around the Great Tree of the same name, east of Shael'dryn's moonwell and west of Night Run. It is an Alliance outpost where Ordanus, a keeper of the grove and one of the eldest sons of the forest god Cenarius, is hiding. The outpost is populated by night elven Cenarion Protectors, Blink Dragons, and Laughing Sisters. From that outpost, they watch over the path leading north to the corrupted land of Felwood. The druids and keepers here oppose the corruption that spreads through their beloved land. Raynewood Retreat was also used as a base by the night elf army during the War of the Satyr, around 9,700 years ago.

Razor Hill

Razor Hill

Razor Hill is an orcish settlement built on a crossroads in central Durotar. The southern road eventually leads to Sen'jin Village and the Valley of Trials. The northern road leads to Orgrimmar, and the road west (now largely washed out by the Southfury Watershed) leads across the Southfury River to the Northern Barrens and eventually to the major Horde gathering point of the Crossroads. The Razor Hill Barracks is the single most prominent structure in the town. The town also has a burrow. Orgnil Soulscar is occupied with investigating the activities of the Burning Blade in the area.

Red Rocks is a naturally occurring formation of red sandstone located in northeastern Mulgore. It is a peaceful and reflective site where one can step out of the world of Thunder Bluff into a place serving as a transition between that world and the next. Red Rocks is a sacred burial ground for the tauren tribes, where fallen heroes of the tauren are sent to the Earth Mother and Sky Father via cleansing flame. Only the most valiant tauren are laid to rest at Red Rocks. It is an honor bestowed upon the great warriors who helped found and defend Thunder Bluff and those who have given their lives for the greater good of their tribes and chieftains. Red Rocks isn't just a place for death, but for life and its greatest journeys too. Tauren braves fulfill their rites to enter adulthood, listening for the wisdom and blessings of their ancestors on the winds.

Remtravel's Excavation is named after the famous archaeologist, Prospector Remtravel. At the digsite, he has discovered a most unusual fossil of mystic properties, but the absent-minded prospector has forgotten where he put it. The digsite has also been invaded by Gravelflint troggs and huge golems which have been unearthed in the dig, and entering the excavation without the proper training can be very hazardous.

Render's Rock is a large cave in the northwestern Redridge Mountains near the entrance to the Burning Steppes. It contains a number of powerful Blackrock orcs. Render's Rock is also the location of the wounded Corporal Keeshan, who needs help in getting to Lakeshire in one piece.

Rethban Caverns is an extensive series of caverns which extend deep into the northwestern section of the Redridge Mountains. Adventurers sometimes visit the caverns in search of Rethban Ore, which can be found in the possession of the local gnolls who are led by the cunning Ardo Dirtpaw. The caverns may have been named after Bart Rethban.

Rethress Sanctum is a ruined shrine located in the Ruined Reaches, southwest of Ravencrest Monument in Azshara. It is currently uninhabited, visited only by stray murlocs and makrura.

Ridgepoint Tower is one of the scout towers of the Stormwind Guard in Elwynn Forest. These towers are well defended against any enemies who encroach into human lands. Ridgepoint in particular serves as a watchpost against the advances of the gnolls and orcs from Redridge Mountains, undead from Duskwood, and the Defias from nearby camps.

This inn featurs nice hammocks and soft beds for people of all shapes and sizes. The innkeeper Fizzgrimble is a goblin that serves drinks and continental breakfast for an additional price.

Rocktusk Farm is situated in Durotar just down the western road outside the gates of Orgrimmar. The owners feel fairly safe as their pig farm is just against the Dranosh'ar Blockade and provides sustenance for the Horde.

Roguefeather Den

Roguefeather Den is a small cavern in south central Thousand Needles, filled with aggressive screeching harpies. The harpies zealously guard their gathered foodstuffs in the back of the den. The harpies here, ruled by Grenka Bloodscreech, are hostile—though perhaps less so than others of their kind. Instead of attacking on sight, they may give strangers a second look and screech among themselves for a moment before attacking. Most of them wear primitive belts and jewelry, and a few carry weapons in their clawed hands.

Roland's Doom is the mine which the Scythe of Elune apparently resides. The mine, now Worgen-infested, is where Jitters first found the Scythe, releasing the Worgen and in time the Dark Riders upon Duskwood and Darkshire, condemning them to permanent darkness. Whoever Roland was, he apparently died here. It is possible he led the team who uncovered the scythe, and were subsequently murdered by the worgen. The mine is now the location of Gutspill and Nefaru, who lead the worgen at the Rotting Orchard.

The Ruins of Constellas is an area of Felwood. Xavathras, and his group of Jadefire satyr, inhabit the area. Judging by the remnants of the architecture, and the existence of a moonwell, it used to be one of the many night elven settlements near Mount Hyjal. The moonwell has since become corrupted with Fel energy, and is being cultivated by Xavathras on behalf of Xavaric. Druidic Emerald Bearkin are attacking the demons of the Ruins. A camp rests to the southeast where Eridan Bluewind and Arcanist Delaris await with quests. Further into the heart of the Ruins the path leading to Xavathras is blocked by a wall of fire.

The Ruins of Kel’Theril mark the remains of a once-great night elven city, shattered during the Great Sundering. Nestled along the shores of Lake Kel’Theril in central Winterspring, the ruins are now a frozen grave, haunted by the restless spirits of the Highborne who perished in the cataclysm. What was once a proud city was reduced to a lake, which later froze over. Today, jagged spires and broken columns still pierce the icy surface, while much of the city lies submerged and sealed in frost. Kel’Theril now serves as a chilling reminder of ancient hubris, its spectral echoes lingering in the cold silence of Winterspring.

The Ruins of Ordil'Aran are located in northwestern Ashenvale, north of Maestra's Post and south of Bathran's Haunt. Although not much remains of the ancient city that once stood here, the site is a favorite spot for the Cult of the Dark Strand, who inhabit what is left of the ruins, ready to strike at any who approach. There is a notable presence of high elves among these evil warlocks. The Ruins of Ordil'Aran are also the site of the Heartswood tree.

Rustmaul Dig Site

Rustmaul Dig Site

The Rustmaul Dig Site is an abandoned dwarven digsite in the Shimmering Flats. The Explorers' League was in the process of uncovering some ruins when a war party led by Moktar Krin attacked them, killing them all. The battle apparently stirred up a nest of silithid creatures from a cave in the dig site. The continuous swarm of insects that erupted drove the already weakened war party off. The surviving members of the Horde war party can be found at Ironstone Camp, while some did manage to make it to Orgrimmar.

Saldean's Farm is unique in Westfall in that it is the only farm that has not been completely overran by the Defias Brotherhood. Though Defias harvesters roam the fields, Farmer Saldean and his wife have stubbornly refused to leave. Both Farmer Saldean and his wife offer a quest, and Farmer Saldean further aids adventurers by selling basic supplies to those in need.

Satyrnaar

Satyrnaar is located in northeastern Ashenvale, northeast of Splintertree Post and southwest of Forest Song. It is one of the three Ashenvale satyr settlements, the other two being Night Run and Xavian. Of the three, Satyrnaar is the most intact and centrally located, boasting several tents among the ruined buildings as shelter for the Bleakheart satyr who live there. Here is one of the soulgems belonging to the Cult of the Dark Strand, which the Saytr are allied with. It the easiest of the satyr settlements to get to, as it is located just off the main road from Splintertree towards Azshara. As such, it is also the most contested of the three satyr ruins.

Scalebeard's Cave is located on a tiny island in the western part of the Bay of Storms in Azshara. It is the home of the turtle Scalebeard, but he tends to not be present, usually preferring to spend his time hunting in the Great Sea.

Scarlet Raven Tavern is located in Darkshire, Duskwood. It was once a cheerful and friendly place full of people relaxing after a hard day's work at the fields. Although the hearth has been kept warm, it now holds a more morose crowd, who sit by their tables and drink silently while the darkness presses in on the tavern outside. The inn features several quest givers, as well as a few vendors. While the tavern no longer saw the business it used to do because of the corruption of Duskwood, they still do get travelers passing through. At some point, Jitters rented a room here for a few days, and spent his nights at the bar, writing, until he left the town in a hurry as he was hunted by the Dark Riders.

Scrabblescrew's Camp is a small goblin camp located not far from the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace. It is the home of Smeed Scrabblescrew, a friendly enterprising goblin who maintains a kodo caravan.

Sen'jin Village

Sen'jin Village is a settlement of the Darkspear tribe located on the southern coast of Durotar. Sen'jin Village is where most of the Darkspear tribe relocated after Zalazane drove them out of the Echo Isles. The trolls here practice more peaceful shamanism, and are trying to fight their way back to reclaiming their island home. Vol'jin relocated his people to the southern coast of Durotar. Vol'jin named the fishing village after his father and former master Sen'jin, who fell while saving his people from rampaging murlocs long ago, during the Third War.

Sentinel Tower is a prominent landmark in Westfall. It stands upon the apex of Sentinel Hill as a scout tower to watch over the surrounding landscape. This is where one can find the People's Militia's leaders, including Gryan Stoutmantle, the group's commander.

Sentry Point is a scout tower built by Theramore and located on the mainland of Dustwallow Marsh just across the bridge from the citadel itself. The tower acts as its name suggests, watching the comings and goings on the road to Theramore. The point was once attacked by elementals sent by Cho'gall.

Shadow Hold, located in western Felwood, is a former night elf barrow den which now serves as the Shadow Council's stronghold on Azeroth. It is a gigantic subterranean labyrinth roamed by Jaedenar warlocks and their demonic pets. The satyr Prince Xavalis, He is an ancient and powerful satyr that some believe to be a son of Xavius, blessed by Sargeras himself. The dreadlord Lord Banehollow also reside here and he is guarded by a wide variety of warlocks, demons, and his personal attendant Ur'dan.

Shadowprey Village is a port located on the southern end of the coast of Desolace. Primarily a troll fishing village, Shadowprey is also a travel node for Horde adventurers. It lies along the Sar'theris Strand, south of the Valley of Spears. Nearby a representative of the Cenarion Circle, the dryad Selendra, investigates the whereabouts of Zaetar's remains. This village is home to a number of professional troll fishermen, whose catches help supply food to the Ghost Walker Post and are always in high demand. The trolls of Shadowprey Village tolerate Selendra's presence because they are aware that the centaur are a threat to them as well, and the Alliance here helps their cause against the Burning Blade.

Shadowsong Shrine is a ruin-covered hill in western Azshara. It is haunted by the ghosts of the highborne, who also roam the surrounding landscape looking to quench all intruding life. The shrine shars its name with both Jarod Shadowsong, commander of the resistance during the War of the Ancients and Maiev Shadowsong, older sister of Jarod and the famous warden who was held responsible for the captivity of Illidan Stormrage after his betrayal at Mt. Hyjal. Any connection they have with the shrine is unknown.

While it has always been home to the great spiders of Teldrassil, recently the spiders have become increasingly hostile and the cave much more dangerous. The largest spider in the Shadowthread Cave is named Githyiss the Vile, a particularly nasty specimen that has been the bane of more than one inexperienced Kaldorei.

Shady Rest Inn was a human-built inn on the border of Dustwallow Marsh and the Barrens, welcoming travelers along the Gold Road. Though ironically lacking shade, it was famed for its soft beds, warm meals, cold drinks—especially the renowned Shady Rest ale—and a garrison of mercenaries who protected against centaur and quilboar raids. Over time, a village named Shady Rest formed around it, featuring a jetty and pier that attracted coastal merchant traffic. Unknown to most, the garrison was secretly Quarvel’s Raiders, a group of bandits targeting Horde caravans. The inn and surrounding village were mysteriously burned down. Paval Reethe and possibly Lieutenant Caldwell were suspects, but both were killed before the truth could emerge. At the time, the inn was run by James Hyal, whose wife and child perished in the fire. Deeply traumatized, James remains haunted by the tragedy, and the mystery of the attack’s true culprit remains unsolved.

The Shrine of Aessina is located in southwestern Ashenvale, southwest of Maestra's Post, south of House of Edune, and west of Astranaar. Built ages ago by the night elves, this ancient shrine dedicated to the wilderness spirit Aessina lies in the midst of a forest glade in Ashenvale's heart. The shrine is a clear forest pool with a statue of Aessina, standing beside it, clothed only in ivy. Dryads are known to visit the shrine to venerate her.

The Shrine of Remulos is a shrine dedicated to Keeper Remulos, located in western Moonglade. It also houses the night elf Tajarri who helps young druids along. The Shrine of Remulos is the home of Keeper Remulos, and it can be found a few minutes walk to the west of Nighthaven, in the Moonglade. Many younger druids turn to Remulos, the son of the legendary demigod Cenarius, for advice.

The Shrine of the Deceiver is a corrupted barrow den located at Jaedenar in Felwood. It is named for the Burning Legion's lord - Kil'jaeden the Deceiver. The shrine is filled with warlocks of the Shadow Council and is a dangerous place to enter for the unprepared.

Silverwind Refuge is located in south-central Ashenvale, just north of Mystral Lake and directly south of the Iris Lake and Thunder Peak. It is a night elven settlement that contained an alchemy trainer, an herbalism trainer, a hunter trainer, a pet trainer, quest givers, a skinning trainer, and vendors. It is under the protection of an elite guard known as the Sentinels and their army of water elementals. It is a major outpost in Ashenvale along with Astranaar, which lives up to its name—a welcoming place with a comparatively luxurious inn.

Silverwing Grove is the Silverwing Sentinels base. It is located in south-central Ashenvale, southwest of Silverwing Outpost and west of Fallen Sky Lake. It is the location of the entrance to the Warsong Gulch battleground. Alliance Brigadier General, a pair of vendors, and Sentinel Farsong can be found there.

Silverwing Outpost is located in south-central Ashenvale, north of the border with the Barrens and southwest of Splintertree Post. It is the eastern Alliance bastion of defense against the Horde, and it is located on the Horde side of the Falfarren River. Because of this, the sentinels posted there have to fight back constant attacks from the nearby orcs, who are unrelenting in their goal of ridding the woods of the Silverwings once and for all. Its leader is Duriel Moonfire.

Skull Rock in northeastern Durotar is one of several holdouts of the Burning Blade cult in the region. The leader of the Burning Blade within Skull Rock is the orc warlock Gazz'uz. Skull Rock is a Burning Blade hideout, a cave system where the orc warlock Gazz'Uz hides. Several other Burning Blade caves probably exist in near this area. It is suspected the Burning Blade is trying to use locations like this to prepare for an invasion of Orgrimmar, but it will be a long time before they are be able to amass that kind of support.

Slithering Scar is home to one of the more savage and highly xenophobic silithid groups. They attack anything that approaches their hive with a ferocity matched only by the devilsaurs. If attacked, the silithid will not chase you down once you retreated from their territory. This hive is home to the Gorishi sect, where they're currently raising a colossus that, when fully grown, will be released into Un'Goro

Southwind Village

Southwind Village was once a night elven base of operation in Silithus, but was destroyed by the qiraji during the War of the Shifting Sands. The village has been left overrun by relentless silithid that infested large parts of that area. The horror of the village's initial sundering echoed through time — the tortured spirits of fallen druids and Sentinels wander the ruins aimlessly led by Shade of Ambermoon.

Spirit Rock is a place sacred to the shaman of the Horde. It is located in the hills high above the Valley of Trials in Durotar, and is accessible from the Hidden Path leading up to it. Aspiring shaman are to drink a sapta near the rock in order to commune with the earth.

Splinterspear Junction

Splinterspear Junction

Splinterspear Junction is where the main road into the Swamp of Sorrows splits. The north branch will take you past the Harborage and to the Fallow Sanctuary, while the southern branch will take you to Stonard and the path to the Blasted Lands. An old orcish watch tower sits there and the area is regularly patrolled by Horde guards, so Alliance adventurers are advised to keep their eyes open when traveling the roads.

Splintertree Post is a Horde outpost in Ashenvale, lying just north-west of Felfire Hill. Like most Horde outposts, Splintertree is mainly populated by orcs and tauren, all whom are primarily scouts and guards. There are several quest givers, a heavy armor vendor for repairs, an inn, mailbox, stable master, and a flight path maintained by wind rider flight master Vhulgra. Splintertree was established and occupied by Grommash Hellscream and his Warsong clan orcs during the Third War when the orcs first ventured into Ashenvale. The night elves, still on uneven ground with the past actions of the Warsong leader and with the strain on the Horde/Alliance peace agreements from the last war, Splintertree is subject to a high amount of retaliation, especially since raids on Astranaar are frequent.

Splithoof Crag is the name of the Galak centaur village located against the northern wall of Thousand Needles, just east of Darkcloud Pinnacle.

A large cave located in the Stagalbog in eastern Swamp of Sorrows. Many murlocs of the Marsh tribe live here, with their leader, the Swamp Talker who stole the warchief's orders from Bengor an orc located in Stonard in the Swamp of Sorrows.

Staghelm Point

Staghelm Point is a night elven tower found on the top of a peak in northeastern Silithus. Ralo'shan the Eternal Watcher resides here, alongside a bronze drake from the Brood of Nozdormu that circles the skies above the tower. Not far from the tower, following down the road, is Twilight's Run, a cave full of Twilight cultists also with a small camp outside the mouth of the cave.

Once a night elven village, Starbreeze became overrun by corrupted furbolgs of the Gnarlpine tribe. The village consists of a few small houses.

Starfall Village

Starfall Village

Starfall Village is a small night elven village located in northwestern Winterspring. It is a settlement of Alliance vendors and quest givers in Winterspring, the only Alliance settlement in the region. It is found along the main road, northwest of Everlook and south of Frostsaber Rock. It contains a barrow den known as the Ban'Thallow Barrow Den, a night elven lodge, and a smaller house. Jaron Stoneshaper, a dwarven member of the Explorer's League is found here. When Brann Bronzebeard visited Starfall, Jaron was equally glad to see another dwarf (who are apparently a rarity in these parts) and explained his work to Brann over a pint of fine ale. The night elves here are kind enough to let adventurers rest for a few days if they need it. It seems that most of the night elves at Starfall are here to observe the wildkin nearby, which some believed are tied to Elune.

Steamwheedle Port

Steamwheedle Port

Steamwheedle Port is a port village on the eastern coast of the Tanaris desert, in the South Seas. Belonging to the goblins' neutral Steamwheedle Cartel, it is connected by a road to its mother city of Gadgetzan to the west, and also has a dock for ships to and from Kezan. This small village was home to a more sedate population of goblins and peaceful trolls, who spend most of their time fishing and fighting off Southsea Pirates. They had several machines set up to turn salt water into fresh water, but these worked only on rare occasions.

Stendel's Pond is a small pond, located southwest of Sentinel Hill in Westfall. It is currently surrounded by gnolls. While water is scarce in Westfall, no one seems to be exploiting the pond. Stendel's Bane, a very rare fish-item and the more common Sagefish Schools can both be found and fished up from the pond.

Despite their intense dislike of each other, a child from each family has fallen in love with one another in true "Romeo and Juliet" fashion. There is hope their love can bring the two families together.

The Stonemaul Ruins are the former home of the Stonemaul ogres. The original village was destroyed by members of Onyxia's brood. The ogre leader, Overlord Mok'Morokk led his people away from the ruin and established a new home to the north called Brackenwall Village. Brogg, the Stonemaul Survivor, unhappy with Mok'Morokk's inactivity with regard to seeking vengeance against Onyxia's brood, has set up camp in Mudsprocket and seeks assistance from adventurers in his quest. The ruins are located within Dragonmurk and are currently infested with Firemane Dragonspawn. The Firemanes help raise a small number of young black dragons in the ruins.

Stonetalon Peak

Stonetalon Peak

Stonetalon Peak is an Alliance settlement at the far northwestern end of the Stonetalon Mountains. It is built within a verdant mountain valley and is maintained by the druids of the nearby Talon Den. Local cultures consider the mountain sacred. It is suffused by magic. This forested peak is a glimpse at what the entire Stonetalon Mountains looked like before the goblins and elementals arrived. Here, one can find the only Alliance outpost, led by a night elf named Albagorn. The night elves take shelter on Stonetalon Peak, maintaining that refuge with the help of their allies. The elves here are assisted in their efforts to reclaim the mountains by dryads and mighty keepers of the grove. A barrow den is also located here, where some druids lie sleeping, connecting to the Emerald Dream.

Stonewatch Falls is located on the terminus of Lake Everstill's eastern river. It cascades down the hill below Stonewatch and forms a deep lake in the nook of the eastern Redridge Mountains. A small tribe of murlocs make their home here, catching fish from the lake and erecting crude structures to sleep in.

Stonewatch Tower is the secondary structure of the human stronghold of Stonewatch, which also includes the Stonewatch Keep. They both used to be controlled by the Humans of Lakeshire but were taken by orcs of the Blackrock clan. Now the tower is firmly in the hands of Gath'Ilzogg's underlings.

Stonewatch Keep was once an Alliance fortress. It fell in the Second War to the orcs, and in their hands it stays. It is located east of Lakeshire in a strategic position atop a hill. The orcs harry travelers and sometimes muster the courage to raid the outskirts of Lakeshire. They are advance forces for their brethren in Blackrock Spire. Brann Bronzebeard speculates that they may have more nefarious plans for Lakeshire than mere raiding, perhaps urged by their master, the black dragon Nefarion. Most often, however, they just sit in their keep and taunt others to take it back from them. When Brann was passing by the keep, he experienced their more colorful greetings. A clever orc made a suggestion about his beard in Dwarven, and Brann nearly decides to tare the keep down with his bare hands

Stormrage Barrow Dens

The Stormrage Barrow Dens are the sacred barrow dens of the Moonglade where many of the nightelven druids slumber in the Emerald Dream. The great druid Malfurion Stormrage, for whom the barrow dens are named, used to slumber deep within the dens. This area is sacred to the druids and was also formerly the home of the late demigod Cenarius. The Barrow Dens are an ancient underground fortress, with passages and caves containing the living and working chambers for the druids of the wild. The dome in the center of the hill holds Cenarius' Lair, now a shrine to the valiant demigod.

Sun Rock Retreat is a Horde settlement centrally-located in the Stonetalon Mountains, hidden amid the peaks south of Mirkfallon Lake. It is the area's primary hub of activity and trade, hosting a contingent of predominantly orcish and tauren forces devoted to repairing the damage done to the mountains by the Venture Company and other malignant forces. Tauren make pilgrimages to Sun Rock Retreat to engage in rituals to cross over to the spirit world, as the place has a strong bond to the spirit realm. It is said that long ago, An'she himself kissed the mountain where the retreat now stands.

Swamplight Manor is a small house located in the Witch Hill region of Dustwallow Marsh. It is home to the famous cook, "Swamp Eye" Jarl. In the small garden outside the "manor", there is a pile of dirt that contains the buried report of an orcish spy. Alliance adventurers turn this in to Captain Garran Vimes and Horde adventurers can turn it in to Nazeer Bloodpike.

Tabetha's Farm is a small hut with a garden located in the murkiest part of the Quagmire in Dustwallow Marsh. Tabetha, a powerful mage living with two apprentices, is present in the building along with her two apprentices Garion and Morlann. The Tahonda Ruins used to be a tauren village that was destroyed and abandoned. The ruins lays near the path through the mountain to Tanaris. Little to no information was known about this village. The ruins are inhabited by Saltstone basilisks, which might have been the reason why it is abandoned. An attack was believed to have happened evidenced by the two sets of three parallel tears in the leather of one of the buildings.

Talonbranch Glade is a small night elf homestead in the northern parts of Felwood, this is as close to Alliance territory as you’ll find in Felwood. This amounts to a single house, a hippogryph roost, and a few friendly — if edgy — night elves.

Beyond the crawling madness of the hives, beneath the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, legions of qiraji prepare for invasion. They must be stopped at all costs before they can unleash their voracious insectoid armies on Kalimdor once again, and a second War of the Shifting Sands breaks loose!

The Temple of Arkkoran is a former temple of Elune located on the northeastern shores of Azshara and it is where the sea giant Arkkoroc lives. He can be found at the top level of the temple and is guarded by murlocs and makrura who attacked on sight. He is the supposed god of the sea giants. The makrura and murlocs in the area consider him some kind of divinity as well. Loramus Thalipedes describes him as a lesser deity, and his sons, the sea giants, patrol around the temple. Many of Lord Arkkoroc's sons were slain by the hydra Hetaera, and he now seeks revenge. Arkkoran only leaves the temple when he is in a foul moodThe Shattered Strand, which the temple is located on, is also under watch by hydras and aggressive sea giants.

Deep within the Swamp of Sorrows lie the sunken ruins of the Temple of Atal’Hakkar — a forgotten shrine built by the Atal’ai, a sect of exiled troll priests who once served the mighty Gurubashi Empire. Driven by visions of blood and prophecy, they sought to summon Hakkar the Soulflayer, an ancient and malevolent blood god. Though cast out for their heresy, the Atal’ai erected a hidden temple to prepare for his return. Alarmed by their growing power, the green Dragon Aspect Ysera intervened, sinking the temple beneath the marshes. Her dragons now stand eternal vigil over its flooded halls. Yet whispers persist that some Atal’ai survived, continuing their dark rites in the shadows. The temple — also called the Sunken Temple — remains sealed, its cursed depths home to restless spirits, ancient wards, and forbidden powers awaiting release. Few who enter ever return.

The Temple of Zin-Malor is an ancient building situated in the Ruins of Eldarath. It was once a prominent night elven temple to the worship of their goddess, Elune. Its similarity to the nearby Temple of Arkkoran is striking, as they both have a very similar design to the current Temple of the Moon in Darnassus. The temple is currently occupied by the Spitelash tribe of naga under the leadership of Warlord Krellian, who himself inhabits the temple in a place of honor. The temple has at least one underground royal vault, which contains a chest of pandaren design, the last gift the pandaren gave to the Highborne before cutting ties with the night elves. The pandaren said it contained all the arcane magic the Highborne would ever need, but was in fact completely empty. The gift was actually a message of advice and wisdom to the Highborne: that they did not actually need arcane magic at all.

Tethris Aran is a series of night elven ruins found in northern Desolace just north of Thunder Axe Fortress. The ruins are inhabited only by the wild creatures of Desolace. The night elven settlement that was here was presumably destroyed by the Great Sundering.

Thalanaar is a tiny Alliance night elf camp on the border of Feralas and the Thousand Needles. The outpost has very little to offer in the way of goods and services, although it is the location for the Tribal Leatherworking trainer Caryssia Moonhunter and has a flight path that could be reached from Feathermoon Stronghold, Theramore Isle, and Gadgetzan.

The Thalassian Base Camp is located in northern Azshara, south of the Legash Encampment and east of Ursolan. Its leader, Magus Rimtori, recently made and reneged on a deal with the Horde to offer a share of the findings in exchange for funding and protection of the expedition. Because of this betrayal, Horde adventurers are being recruited to exact vengeance upon Magus Rimtori and her followers. Once the orcs had served her purpose, she betrayed the Horde and slaughtered the entire orcish guard. Positioning her entire escort at the Thalassian Base Camp under Magister Hawkhelm's supervision, Rimtori set off to explore Azshara with her bodyguards.

The Bough of the Eternals, also known as the Boughs of Eternity, stands as a majestic and enigmatic tree at the heart of the Temple Gardens in Darnassus. Towering and ancient, its form is sculpted to resemble a great bear, from whose back rises the elegant shape of a bird in flight—symbols revered in kaldorei culture. At the base of this living monument, nestled between the bear’s forelegs, lies the city’s bank, overseen by the stewards Idriana, Lairn, and Garryeth. Many among the Darnassian people entrust their valuables to this place, believing the Bough's presence lends a sense of sacred protection. Much like the revered tree of Oracle Glade, the Bough of the Eternals is shrouded in mystery. Whispers among scholars and sentinels alike suggest it may not be the work of night elven hands, but something far older.

The Cleft lies northeast of Ban'ethil Hollow and northwest of Dolanaar in Teldrassil. This mysterious cave has a hidden yet clear-cut path leading up to it; for now, it remains devoid of life or signs of its significance.

The Cliffspring Falls

The Cliffspring Falls

The Cliffspring Falls are the origin of the Cliffspring River in Darkshore, serving as the principal source of drinking water for the region. Once a pure waterfall, the cave that is the source of the falls has become corrupted, like much of the surrounding area. Some believe the corruption is seeping from nearby Felwood while others believe that members of the Twilight's Hammer cult are responsible. Members of the cult have been found deep within the caves at the waterfall's source. The cave is also crawling with naga.

The Crossroads

The Crossroads

The Crossroads is a small but bustling outpost aptly named for the crossing of the main north-south road (from the Gold Road) and the road from Ratchet in the east all the way to the Stonetalon Mountains in the west. It is surrounded by open plains and thorny brush. Crossroads serves as a hub for Horde activities in the Barrens and provides them with flying mounts as well. Crossroads is run mainly by orcs, though it is populated by tauren and trolls as well, and there are several Forsaken working with the Horde here. The village's leader is Thork, an orc who is concerned with defending the town against the quilboar and centaur. Crossroads is a helpful stop-off for any Horde adventurers traveling through the Barrens and Alliance members would be wise to avoid it. The settlement is built from rough wooden structures and reinforced barricades, with watchtowers keeping an eye out for centaur raids, quillboar ambushes, and Alliance incursions.

Forged through the dark alliance of Medivh—corrupted by Sargeras—and Gul'dan’s Shadow Council, the Dark Portal tore open the veil between Azeroth and Draenor. Through its massive arch, the first orcish legions stormed into the Eastern Kingdoms, igniting the First War. Though shattered at the end of the Second War by Archmage Khadgar, its rift endured—a wound in reality, guarded by Nethergarde Keep. Years later, Ner’zhul reopened the portal to seek dominion beyond Draenor, unwittingly dooming his world. The explosion birthed Outland, and remnants of the Alliance stayed behind to contain the threat. The portal lay dormant until the demon lord Kazzak reignited it, unleashing a new tide of chaos. Now ringed by encampments of both Horde and Alliance, the green-lit gateway to Outland once more pulses with energy, a reminder of Azeroth’s fragile boundary with the Burning Legion’s reach.

Hidden beneath Raven Hill Cemetery in the heart of Duskwood, the Dawning Woods Catacombs are a sprawling, shadow-choked labyrinth teeming with the region’s most fearsome undead. These ancient crypts draw brave Alliance adventurers seeking glory—or a grim fate. The catacombs are best explored in groups; lone wanderers risk being consumed by the relentless swarms in the darkness. Two entrances offer passage: the eastern path descends into a festering ghoul warren, where disease and madness reign, while the western tunnel opens into a solemn hall of vigilant skeletons, still guarding the tombs they once called home.

The Dead Acre

The Dead Acre was once one of many farms in Westfall but when the Defias Brotherhood began taking control of Westfall, they burned the farm that had once stood there, as well as the fields. Now, only the smoking ruins remain. The Dead Acre is in southeast Westfall, close to the bridge leading into Duskwood. The mechanical Harvest Watchers that roam the smoldering fields of the Dead Acre are the strongest in Westfall, so exercise caution when venturing close.

The Den

The Den

The Den is the base of operations in the Valley of Trials, and is the starting camp for young orc adventurers. It is in the small southwest corner of Durotar. This is where nearly all the Valley of Trials quests are obtained. It contains basic class trainers and vendors, but no profession trainers. Inside the cave are several cages, used for holding hostile Captured Northwatch Scouts.

The Forlorn Rowe is located in northwestern Duskwood, on the northern edge of Raven Hill Cemetery. It is a hill cloaked in an ominous darkness, upon which the home of Morbent Fel rests. The powerful necromancer rules the forest's undead creatures through evil arcane magic, and only a special weapon can stop him.

The Great Lift is a tauren built elevator that allows travel between the Barrens and Thousand Needles with Thousand Needles being the base and the Barrens being the top of the lift. The lift is guarded by two taurens Grish Longrunner and Brave Moonhorn.

The Grosh'gok Compound is an ogre mound located in the Vice inhabited by the Deadwind ogres. It is the southernmost and largest of the multiple caves in the Vice.

The Jansen Stead is the northernmost farm in Westfall, and is located near the bridge to Elwynn Forest. Like most of the farms in Westfall, the owners have been driven off by the Defias Brotherhood. Now, Defias mechanical Harvest Watchers and agents of the Brotherhood control the farm. Nearby, you can find Farmer Furlbrow and his wife who have fled their own farm, Furlbrow's Pumpkin Patch. They give most adventurers their first quests in Westfall.

The Maclure Vineyards, located in southern Elwynn Forest, belong to the Maclure Family. The Maclures are in a bitter rivalry with the nearby Stonefield Family, but despite their intense dislike of each other, a child from both families has fallen in love with each other in true Romeo and Juliet fashion. There is hope their love can bring the two families together. A dozen boars roam the vineyards alone.

The Master's Cellar

The Master's Cellar lies hidden in the southernmost reaches of Deadwind Pass, beneath the crumbling remnants of a forgotten village—once home to the servants of Karazhan’s towering spire. Time has not been kind to these ruins, and neither has death. Two entrances grant access to this forsaken place. The first opens into a sprawling wine cellar, its ancient casks now watched over by spectral custodians—Unliving Residents, Wailing Spectres, and Damned Souls that drift in silence. The second path descends through a fractured floor into a shadowed cavern system winding deep beneath the earth, equally haunted by the restless dead. Though no known spirits of fame dwell here, the sheer number of phantoms suggests that something dark still festers in the depths below.

The Molsen Farm is one of the farms of Westfall that have been taken over by the Defias Brotherhood. Now, the deadly mechanical Harvest Watchers terrorize the fields and the Defias have claimed the farmstead as their own.

The Mor'shan Rempart

The Mor'shan Rempart

The Mor'shan Rampart lies at the northern terminus of the Gold Road in Northern Barrens. This makeshift defensive post was built to withstand the push of Alliance forces into the region from Ashenvale to the north. The rampart and its watch towers still serve as a makeshift launching point for raids on the night elven town of Astranaar. The orcs there are all either members of the Warsong Outriders or members of the Warsong Offensive.

On the surface, the lair is slightly sunk, as if there was a broad river or shallow lake at its location once, overlooking the Un'Goro Crater. The floor is mostly sandy. Here and there large twitching claws are erect, seemingly from large silithid creatures buried in the sand, and where they erect the soil is drenched with silithid goo. Inside the lair beneath the surface, it is like any other silithid hive: Humid, warm and eerie. There are many tunnels connecting the two entrances and the breeding rooms with each other. The walls of the tunnels are coated with silithid acid and decorated with unborn insects.

The Oasis Inn is the inn of Cenarion Hold, owned by Calandrath, afemale night elf innkeeper. She is originally from Auberdine. She grew up around leatherworking, which was likely her father's trade. Once, a courier delivered her a message for Barnabas Grell a Forsaken warrior who was hunting for the scorpid Deathclasp. He managed to kill her and return her pincer to Cenarion Hold for the reward. Upon his return, Calandrath gave him the message informing gim that his niece Jillian was murdered by the Scarlet Crusade at her farm.

The Oracle Glade is a shrine in the northwestern area of Teldrassil. One of the sacred moonwells lies there, as well as the magical Oracle Tree. The tree has a wide trunk and boughs shaped like a great eagle perched atop a mighty bear. Many whisper that it was grown by nature magic. The Oracle Glade is the place where Malfurion Stormrage meditates. The Bloodfeather harpies have recently moved into the Glade, and a foul blight has corrupted the matron of the Teldrassil spiders, Lady Sathrah, who can sometimes be found in the far corners of the glade.

The Pools of Arlithrien is a collection of small pools in western Teldrassil, located south of the entrance to Darnassus. While once a peaceful area, the pools are now home to hostile wildlife. There is a lone moonwell in this area, abandoned by the night elves due to the threat of Gnarlpine furbolgs.

The Ravaged Twilight Camp is located in the Crystal Vale in northwestern Silithus. It is the current home of Highlord Demitrian. A camp of Twilight's Hammer cultists once thrived here. The area is now swarming with elementals and nothing but scattered pieces of wood and canvas to mark the spot where the camp was.

The Rotting Orchard, also known as Rotten Orchard in Lands of Conflict, is located in southern Duskwood, east of the Yorgen Farmstead and west of the Tranquil Gardens Cemetery. It was once a bright fruit orchard loaded with apples, pears, and peaches. Now the orchard lies abandoned, the fruit fallen and rotting in the fields. Recently, the orchard has become home to many ravenous worgen led by Gutspill and Nefaru at nearby Roland's Doom.

The Ruins of Mathystra

The Ruins of Mathystra are located in northern Darkshore, just past the Tower of Althalaxx. Mathystra used to be a night elven city before the Great Sundering, but it was utterly decimated by the destruction of the Well of Eternity, and has long since been abandoned by the night elves in favor of the smaller coastal villages further south. The ruins contain scattered relics of the old Highborne, and young night elves sometimes attempt to search through Mathystra in search of these relics. Ghost Sabers can also be found here. The ancient ruins are inhabited by the Stormscale Naga, who aggressively guard against any intrusions from outside sources.

The Ruins of Ravenwind are the remains of an ancient Kaldorei civilization in northern Feralas, specifically the Highborne (much like Dire Maul). It is currently overrun with Northspring harpies. Shay Leafrunner, a rather absent-minded young night elf girl, can be found here waiting to be escorted back to her guardian friend, Rockbiter, a mountain giant to the south of the ruins. A ways north of the ruins, adventurers can run into Miblon Snarltooth, a hungry Gnoll that zealously guards a small nursery of Evoroot. He has a taste for meat. There are also a group of Jaedemir dragons near the ruins, who are bent on protecting the large tree located at the center.

The Ruins of Solarsal are some night elven ruins southwest of the destroyed Feathermoon Stronghold in Sardor Isle. Hatecrest naga inhabit the grounds.

The Ruins of Stardust are located in southwestern Ashenvale, south of Astranaar and west of the Talondeep Path. The ruins are situated on a lake island, and several large bog beasts roam the ruins, corrupted by the lake's tainted waters. Much like Iris Lake, the ruins have been exposed to the demonic rot from Felwood, and the area is tinted a sickly yellowish green color. The most notable exception is the stardust shrubs scattered about the area. They are unmarred by the taint, and are known to contain powerful healing properties if imbibed. The ruins were originally considered a holy place.

The Scarab Dais is where the Scarab Gong is located, just northwest of the Scarab Wall outside of Ahn'Qiraj, in southern Silithus.

The Scarab Wall is a massive, slippery barrier bisecting Silithus. Standing a hundred feet high, this impassible obstruction stretches between the mountains from west to east. The lands beyond, which can only be seen by climbing a high cliff some distance away, appear much the same as the rest of Silithus—dry, windswept desert. The elves called the area beyond the Scarab Wall, Ahn'Qiraj. They advised to steer clear of it although it seems there is no way to breach or climb the wall, at least without the use of magic.

The Shrine of the Dormant Flame is a place most holy to all shaman of the Horde. It is accessible via a secret path that spirals around the tallest mountain of the region, just northwest of the Valley of Trials. The top provides a fantastic view of the region, but jumping from the peak is ill-advised. In order to reach the shrine, there is a path starting next to the Southfury River at the southwestern tip of the Southfury Watershed. Telf Joolam is the keeper of the shrine, and wanders alone around it. He is responsible for guiding aspiring shaman in the way of taming fire. The brazier at the top is to be lit by shamans using the ember of a fire elemental they had defeated, to show that they had control over fire.

The Sleeping Gorge is a small chasm in eastern Deadwind Pass. One of the paths south to Karazhan runs through the gorge for a stretch before turning east into the Vice.

The Stone of Remembrance is a monument located at Heroes' Vigil, in the center of Stone Cairn Lake in Elwynn Forest. It reads : "This monument is dedicated to all those who have fallen in the protection of Stormwind. Our people have weathered unbelievable hardships to retain their freedoms and to control their own destinies. It is here we remember every sacrifice our citizens have made during the first war that riddled our people." The Stone is currently in the hands of the Defias Brotherhood.

The Swarming Pillar is a large silithid-infested peak in the middle of Silithus containing one of their hives, just south of Cenarion Hold. It got its name from a massive swarm of small silithid that buzzed around the hive.

The Talon Den is a barrow den on Stonetalon Peak inhabited by Mirkfallon Dryads, night elves Cenarion Caretakers, and Mirkfallon Keepers.

The Tower of Azora is a small mage tower in eastern Elwynn Forest. The tower is run by a number of servants of Azora, who all appear to be Gnomish, and who are in turn presided over by the Archmage of Azora, Theocritus. The denizens of the tower are in a constant feud with the inhabitants of the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains, ruled over by the evil sorcerer Morganth. The two towers are constantly spying on one another through magical means. Inside the tower are several vendors and, most notably, the Artisan enchanter for the Alliance. The servants of Azora are unable to wield magic and are somewhat resentful of the abilities of their master. It also shows that many things straying too near the tower are adversely affected by its magical aura, so the servants often have to battle living buckets and mutant butterflies.

The Tower of Ilgalar is a mage tower in the eastern part of the Redridge Mountains, and is controlled by Morganth, a powerful sorcerer who controls the Shadowhide tribe of gnolls. After being exiled from the Mage Quarter of Stormwind City, he took up residence here to continue his study of the dark arts. There are a few quests involving the tower and its occupant, including Solomon's Law. By using a magical artifact, called Eye of Azora, within Tower of Azora, you are able to see Tower of Ilgalar and its surroundings. This is placed near the Tower of Ilgalar during the quest A Watchful Eye obtained in the Tower of Azora. Throughout the tower are dragon bones hung on display. On the top level, a small alchemy table also holds a human skull and a dragon skull. It is not known what interest Morganth has in these relics.

The Twilight Base Camp is s one of four Twilight's Hammer camps in Silithus. This village is made up mostly of trolls, tauren and orcs. A low wall surrounds a ramshackle cluster of huts and burrows. A single well in the center provides water. Most of the residents are warlocks or other arcane types, seeking crystals under the sands for some obscure purpose that not even the elves know.

The Venture Co. Mine (also spelled Venture Company Mine) is an enormous mine run by the Venture Company in the eastern cliffs of Mulgore. The savage defilement of the ancient mountains is greatly upsetting to the tauren of Bloodhoof Village, who seek to eradicate the goblins from the land. A caravan was supposed to bring new supplies to the mine however it was raided by tauren.

The Wailing Caverns

The Wailing Caverns

The Wailing Caverns are a network of underground caverns within the heart of the Barrens. Its waterways carry underground rivers for miles beneath the savannah, and naturally bubbles to the surface as small oases throughout the Barrens. The caverns were discovered by the night elf druid Naralex, who named them after the mournful howls produced by the wind traveling through the caverns. Naralex believed that if he connected the underground waters directly to the Emerald Dream, he could spread growth across the Barrens and restore the region to its original lush state. He traveled into the caverns with his loyal disciples and settled into meditation, allowing the Dream to connect to Azeroth through his body. But, he was unexpectedly overwhelmed by the Emerald Nightmare. Unable to wake, the sleeping Naralex inadvertently channeled the Nightmare's energies into the caverns, corrupting the waters, the wildlife and his disciples, most of whom went insane and became the Druids of the Fang.

Theramore's local harbor. The Lady Mehley has a ship route from Theramore to Menethil Harbor and vice versa. The docks has a harbor crane to unload cargo from friendly vessels. For defenses, it has numerous ballistae and cannons to sink enemy naval vessels. It has two boats constantly docked there: one being the Bleeding Sparrow, and the other unnamed.

It is the homeland of the Thistlefur tribe of corrupted furbolgs, who aggressively attack anyone who wanders too close. The Thistlefur tribe is led by two extremely ferocious warriors: Dal Bloodclaw and Rorgish Jowl.

Three Corners is a crossroads just inside Redridge Mountains. The crossroads is patrolled by a lone Stormwind guard, Guard Parks. The crossroads splits three ways and leads to the "Three Shires". It runs west into Elwynn Forest to Goldshire, east to Lakeshire, and south into Duskwood to Darkshire.

Thunder Axe Fortress is a stronghold occupied by the Burning Blade cult. The fortress is located in northwestern Desolace and is now led by Kohor. The fortress is made up of a stronghold, a barracks, a cave and several watch towers. Thunder Axe is the most remote Burning Blade hideaway in the land. Here warlocks practice their dark magic but seems to refrain from their demon-summoning ways. While Thrall is aware of the cult's existence, he has thus far sent only a small contingent of orcs to the area. It is also rumored that a sect from Thunder Axe is allied with the Magram centaur against the Gelkis. Its population is 1,000. A powerful artifact known as the Hand of Iruxos is stored within the fortress, which is used to open demon portals at Mannoroc Coven. The fortress also houses the Sceptre of Light—an immensely powerful artifact that the Burning Blade stole from the naga. Tyranis Malem resides here, a traitor to his people, and a keen pioneer in demonic magics.

Thunder Falls is a narrow ravine, located in the mountains of north-western Elwynn Forest. A steep path leading up to the ravine can be found on the right of Mirror Lake's waterfall where there is a small rural cottage that has Bandits, an Anvil and a Cozy Fire, along with a small pier and boat at the river next to the house. If the river is followed it will eventually wind into another waterfall that empties near the border of Westfall. The bottom of the waterfall can be reached from above by carefully navigating through the hilly terrain. The falls are fed by a third, inaccessible waterfall from the cliffs on the northern side of the mountains.

The Thunderhorn Water Well is located in the midst of the grasslands in Mulgore, by the north road between Thunder Bluff and Bloodhoof Village. This well had been taken over by the Venture Company in order to control the water supply but were run off by the tauren.

The Tidus Stair is an interesting rock formation that has the form of several terraces forming a giant set of stone stairs overlooking part of the Merchant Coast. It is located southeast of Ratchet, on the coast of the Northern Barrens. A pair of tauren, Islen Waterseer and Mahren Skyseer, sit and fish and converse with water spirits there.

Timbermaw Post is a small furbolg camp located southeast across the road from the Frostfire Hot Springs, and west of Lake Kel'Theril. Although the name suggests that the camp was originally held by the Timbermaw tribe, it is now in complete control the corrupted furbolgs of the Winterfall tribe.

Tiragarde Keep is an Alliance stronghold located in the Scuttle Coast in Durotar. It was previously manned by soldiers loyal to Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, Lord of Kul Tiras, and was ruined in a battle against the Horde. After Daelin's death, a reserve force under Lieutenant Benedict took control of the ruins and continued the Admiral's crusade against the orcs. Tiragarde Keep is the only Alliance outpost in Durotar. These soldiers loyal to Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, father of Jaina Proudmoore, man Tiragarde (much like Northwatch Hold in the Barrens). Since Daelin's death, they have continued their crusade against the Horde. While Jaina does not approve of their actions, the majority of the Alliance accepts the dangerous philosophy of these troops. Although there are some who view them as being almost as fanatical and stupid as the Scarlet Crusade. It might seem Thrall has not crushed this group out of mercy, and that may prove a strategic mistake

Tor'kren Farm is located southeast of Thunder Ridge and north of the Southfury Watershed in northwestern Durotar. It hasn't seen as much profit as other pig farms in the area. Previously run by Misha Tor'kren and her son, the fate of the farm is uncertain after the younger orc ventured out to hunt crocolisks at the Southfury River.

In the time of the Great Sundering, Queen Azshara brought her favored servitors, those of the Highborne, to the twin towns of Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran. To govern these towns, Azshara placed Athrikus Narassin, an elf of considerable magical power. Athrikus was at first loyal to his queen, but eventually he grew bored of his post, and would spend most of his days in the Tower of Althalaxx, some ways removed of the towns. Approximately 10,000 years later, a dark theory about the Tower of Althalaxx has proven true: A cult gathered at the mage tower with many warlocks amongst their number, including a foul satyr. They called themselves the Cult of the Dark Strand, and Athrikus was indeed their leader, although why they were assembling at this time was at first a dark mystery.

It is located on the very tip of land northeast of the Bay of Storms, and the sandy beaches near the tower are heavily patrolled by murlocs, makrura, and hydras. The Tranquil Gardens Cemetery lies slightly southeast of Darkshire in Duskwood. While the presence of many undead has made the cemetery anything but tranquil, the undead here are the weakest you will find in Duskwood. The first quests The Night Watch give you involve dispatching the undead in this area. The Insane Ghoul is also located here, either inside the ruined church, or wandering about outside. Just north of the cemetery lies Blind Mary's house.

Nestled deep in Duskwood's heart, the Twilight Grove is a secluded glade where a towering, unnamed great tree rises—born from a branch of Nordrassil, planted by Fandral Staghelm to contain the creeping taint of saronite. At its base lies a tranquil moonwell and a forgotten night elven gazebo, relics of ancient druidic presence. This sacred grove harbors one of the four portals to the Emerald Dream, safeguarded by the green dragonflight’s lieutenants. Over time, the great tree became a conduit to the Dream, purifying the land—until Yogg-Saron's corruption turned the gateway into a wound. The once-noble Dragons of Nightmare, twisted by the Emerald Nightmare, now haunt the grove, lashing out with madness and death. Both Alliance and Horde heroes must tread carefully here, where serenity veils danger and the dream teeters on the edge of nightmare.

The Twin Colossals (a.k.a. Twin Colossi) are a pair of high vertical mountains, rising up on the west side of Feralas, and are the highest point in the whole area. The road from Feralas to Desolace runs between these two mountains. (Some individuals conjecture that these are the stumps of what were once trees that have since eroded and become indiscernible from the surrounding rock and dirt). The two mesas are one of the most striking landmarks of the area and inspire awe in whoever beholds them. At the top, there is a good view of the surrounding area, a small lake where one can fish, and a night elf male, Kalin Windflight, who sells Colossal Parachutes which enable the player to safely leave the mountain for 20 silver each.

The Ruins of Uldum is an ancient hall of stone ,full of Sandstone Earthen, who are immobile (if unprovoked) and malfunctioning. The western side of the room has been damaged, revealing a titan device. The area appears to also be known as the "Antechamber of Uldum" and may have once been the grand entrance to Uldum itself. The quakes that ripped its doors open probably collapsed the tunnels. It is said that Tanaris once housed a Titan city, a place known as Uldum. The city seems to be lost as no one has been able to find it. Fragments of notes unearthed from Bael Modan suggest that a great titan city lies deep within the rocky expanse of the southern desert. So far, dwarven expeditions have yet to track down the location of Uldum, but they are confident that it is only a matter of time.

Valor's Rest, a former elven ruin, is now occupied almost exclusively by night elves of the Cenarion Circle., alongside a few tauren druids. From here they keep an eye on silithid and Twilight's Hammer activities, sometimes venturing into nearby ruins. They are also the ones who cut the path down into Un'Goro, chiefly to aid in resupplying themselves

Camp Valormok is a small encampment with a population of 250. Is the staging point for most of the Horde forces in the area, and it consists of little more than a gathering of a few tents and crude walls. Still, it is better than the Alliance holdings, who have nothing more than a landing pad, and a couple of night elves standing around here and there. The warriors there experienced difficult times but were still hopeful. It is populated with many more orcs, but most were slain by the treacherous blood elf Magus Rimtori, who was sent with warriors by Belgrom Rockmaul to find riches and powerful artifacts. Instead, Rimtori ended up killing the Horde warriors and taking what she found for herself.

The Vul'Gol Ogre Mound is a small basin in southern Duskwood. It is completely overrun by Splinter Fist ogres. It is located just to the southwest of where the main road through Duskwood splits and runs south into Stranglethorn Vale. A few quests require you to recover items from the debris scattered around the area or occasionally from one of the ogres. The ogre group here is led by Zzarc'Vul, after which the mound is named. He is the champion and leader of the Splinter Fist clan.

The Warsong Labor Camp is located in southeastern Ashenvale, east of Fallen Sky Lake and southwest of Dor'Danil Barrow Den. It is a small area containing loggers, harvesters, and orcish guards. It is occasionally attacked by Alliance adventurers since they can strike the guards without fear of retribution, due to the camp's relative isolation.

The Weathered Nook is a small, well-hidden cave and home to Dorn Plainstalker and Prate Cloudseer, two taurens, found on the northern wall of Thousand Needles.

Webwinder Path is a main stretch of road that goes from Malaka'jin, all the way to Mirkfallon Lake. The forest above is made into a labyrinth of spider webs formed into tunnels and loops, a veritable fortress of glittering ivory strands, with hundreds of spiders. Along the road are spiders, rams, thunder lizards, and several critters.

Fed by a natural spring deep within the land of the World Tree, this small lake is drained by the Wellspring River. Previously a favored spot for night elven fishermen, the lake is now the home of corrupted timberlings. The surrounding area is also a dangerous place, as nightsabers and spiders infest the landscape.

Westbrook Garrison stands as the final bastion of order west of Stormwind, nestled at Forest's Edge in Elwynn Forest, near the border with Westfall. This strategic outpost is crucial in defending against the gnoll marauders and bandits that threaten the region. The garrison is led by Captain Sumner Trask. Patrols and excursions are regularly dispatched to keep the gnolls at bay and ensure the safety of Stormwind-held territory. The garrison also serves as a proving ground for newly initiated knights, who are tasked with maintaining the security of the surrounding settlements. South of the garrison, the forest teems with gnolls, and beyond lies the shadowy Duskwood, separated only by a river. The defenders of Westbrook Garrison work tirelessly to protect Elwynn's citizens from the dangers lurking beyond the forest. Wanted posters at the garrison offer quests to eliminate Hogger, an elite gnoll found in the camps to the south.

The Westfall Lighthouse sits just off the coast on the far southern edge of Westfall. Outside the lighthouse stands the ghostly Captain Grayson is in need of help in order to kill Murlocs along the coast. Once a feared pirate captain, Grayson's life met its end on the jagged rocks of Westfall’s coast—the lighthouse stood dark that night. Death brought no peace. As a restless spirit, he returned to the lighthouse, witnessing Old Murk-Eye drive its keepers away and extinguish the beacon. Though they returned and rekindled the flame, the murlocs struck again. This time, the family didn’t survive. Grayson watched, powerless. With no living soul left to tend the light, the burden passed to him. Now, in undeath, he guards the flame he once cursed, ensuring no other sailor shares his fate.

Winterfall Village is a large village of corrupted furbolgs in the far eastern area of Winterspring, near Everlook. The village is ruled by High Chief Winterfall, who resides in a small cave at the very top of the settlement. Winterfall Village is the home of the Winterfall furbolgs, a clan that is now completely corrupted. The Timbermaws sought to help their corrupted cousins here to no avail, and now brace themselves for the possibility of having to go to battle with their own kind.

Woodpaw Den is an area of Feralas which is heavily populated by the Woodpaw Alphas of the Woodpaw gnolls.

Xavian

Xavian is a satyr sect located in northeastern Ashenvale, living in the ruins of an ancient Night elf temple, north of Satyrnaar and west of Forest Song. The general Xalan the Feared was killed there by Sentinels and druids led by Shandris Feathermoon and Arvell. It is one of the three Ashenvale satyr settlements, the other two being Satyrnaar and Night Run. Of the three, Xavian seems to be the center of satyr political power in Ashenvale, as both Prince Raze and Geltharis live here. Xavian is named after Xavius, one of the night elves responsible for summoning the burning legion through a portal manifested from the Well of Eternity in Zin-Azshari in what became later known as the War of the Ancients. Sargeras transformed Xavius into the first satyr when he became unhappy with his progress with the portal. With as close as Xavian is to Azshara, it's easy to assume that this is why it's named so.

Yorgen Farmstead

Yorgen Farmstead

The Yorgen Farmstead is an abandoned farm in southern Duskwood. The farm was once owned by Sven Yorgen who can be found at the small camp on The Darkened Bank. The farmstead is now in the hands of the Defias Brotherhood. Be wary when approaching the farmstead, as many stealthed Defias assassins patrol the area.
