Archbishop Alonsus Faol was the leader of the Church of the Holy Light and mentor to many heroes of the Alliance, including Azeroth’s first paladin, Uther the Lightbringer. At the onset of the Second War, he learned of the Northshire Clerics’ fate during the First War and, with Anduin Lothar, founded the Order of the Silver Hand. With Uther’s help, he trained the first paladins: Turalyon, Tirion Fordring, Saidan Dathrohan, and Gavinrad. Alonsus later joined the Council of Seven Nations, promoting unity among the kingdoms. After the war, he aided in rebuilding Stormwind and restoring Lordaeron. He eventually died and was succeeded by Benedictus. Resurrected by the Scourge, Alonsus broke free and went into hiding, later guiding Calia Menethil in her path as a priestess of the Light.
