Description

The throne room of Stormwind, also called the King’s Privy Quarters, lies deep within Stormwind Keep. At its center stands the Lion Seat, a grand throne flanked by golden lions and guarded by the Royal Guard. King Varian Wrynn, recently returned, now rules from here. Behind the throne lies the map room, where battlemasters and Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth reside. This sacred hall has witnessed both glory and tragedy—most notably, the assassination of King Llane Wrynn by Garona Halforcen during the First War, as young Varian watched. In Varian’s later absence, Prince Anduin held the throne, aided by Lady Katrana Prestor and Highlord Bolvar Fordragon. However, unrest in the House of Nobles revealed Prestor’s true form—Onyxia, the black dragon. Her defeat by heroes of the realm restored order, though not before she kidnapped Anduin and slew Reginald Windsor, who died protecting the prince.
