backstory
Before meeting the Twins, Edelgard took on the guise of the Flame Emperor, using Agarthan technology to distort her voice and conceal her identity. She orchestrated a deadly training exercise against students, including Claude and Dimitri, but her plans were thwarted by the Twins and Jeralt. After being saved by Byleth, she developed a cautious interest in them while forming a reluctant alliance with Those Who Slither in the Dark, sharing a common goal against the church but despising their disregard for collateral damage. During the attack on Remire Village, she offered an alliance to the Twins and Jeralt, anticipating their refusal but warning them of the consequences of their choices.
