appearance
Ibor Thorn is a broad-shouldered but weary-looking man in his early 30s, with short, unkempt brown hair and a perpetual five o’clock shadow. His deep-set brown eyes carry a look of quiet exhaustion, and his calloused hands show years of hard labor. He typically wears a simple, sweat-stained work shirt with rolled-up sleeves, along with a leather tool belt slung across his waist. Unlike his business partner Banny Harker, Ibor lacks the cold calculation and instead looks perpetually burdened by something unseen.
personality
Hardworking & Loyal – Genuinely cares for Sandpoint and its people, unlike his partner Banny. Guilt-Ridden & Paranoid – Knows the mill is involved in shady dealings but is too afraid to speak up. Conflict-Averse & Nervous – Struggles to stand up to Banny or the Scarnettis, leading to frustration and stress. Trustworthy but Hesitant – Wants to do the right thing, but fear holds him back.
backstory
Ibor Thorn has lived in Sandpoint his entire life, working at the lumber mill since his teens. A hardworking and honest man, he found himself promoted to co-manager when the Scarnetti family appointed Banny Harker to oversee the mill’s operations. While Ibor initially welcomed the partnership, he quickly realized that Banny’s obsession with profit and efficiency came at the cost of morality and safety. Over the years, Ibor has grown increasingly uneasy about the mill’s shady dealings and the pressure from the Scarnetti family to push the workers harder. The constant complaints from townsfolk about the late-night log splitting and excessive noise weigh on him, but his loyalty to Sandpoint keeps him from walking away. He knows too much about the mill’s inner workings and the Scarnettis’ influence, making him fearful that leaving would put him in danger. Despite this, his conscience gnaws at him, and he seems on the verge of breaking under the pressure.
