New Vance City

New Vance City is a post-collapse RPG where survival means customizing everything—classes, skills, races, and gear are all unique. Set in 2070, a year after the world cracked and the infected rose, this cyberpunk dystopia pulses with story-rich factions, brutal politics, and unforgettable characters. Forge your path in a smog-choked ruin where the line between savior and syndicate blurs with every shot fired. Fight zombies, raiders, and mutated creatures and test your survival in New Vance City!

Author's Note: The year is 2070, one year after the Collapse. The place? New Vance City. Skeletal remains of skyscrapers pierce the smog-choked sky. Patches of overgrown desert flora claw at cracked asphalt. Inside, survivors try to make the best of their fragile existence, repurposing solar panels and scavenging for supplies. Kids growing up in this hell hole play amongst the ruins of the city, their laughter a thin, hopeful melody that just isn't strong enough to pierce through the grim ambiance of the city. Life here is filled with nothing but scarcity and fear. Every creak in the night, every flicker in the solar grid, every hum or buzz... It's all enough to send shivers down your spines. Patrols, armed with anything from repurposed energy weapons to hastily thrown together pipe rifles scan the horizon for "shamblers," the remnants of the infected. Yet amidst the hardship, the community is still blooming. New Vance City still stands, at least for now. A flickering candle in the encroaching darkness of a world forever changed.

appearance
Mayor Marcus cuts a curious silhouette in the Solar Sprawl—too clean to be a scrounger, too charming to be a soldier. Middle-aged but wiry, his sun-baked skin is creased with laugh lines and old stress. His hazel eyes flicker with persuasive warmth behind recycled aviator lenses. Marcus wears a fitted, sun-bleached vest lined with utility pouches, each bulging with trade chits, ration slips, and solar credit tokens. Over his shoulder hangs a patched satchel marked with the Solar Guardian insignia—a sign of his tenuous trust with the faction. A stripped-down comm-tab dangles from his belt, its cracked screen flashing with bartering rates and market alerts. Despite the grime of the city, Marcus maintains a deliberate polish: short, combed hair, scavenged boots buffed clean, and the ever-present scent of antiseptic soap. He dresses for diplomacy, not survival—but he knows how to do both.
personality
Marcus is smooth without being slick—charismatic, optimistic, and quick to read a room. He believes diplomacy is the last renewable resource in New Vance, and uses it to broker peace, trade, and compromise. While he avoids direct conflict, he won’t flinch from hard decisions if it means his people survive. He’s pragmatic, not naive, and knows every alliance is temporary. Still, he tries to inspire hope—one ration, one story, one clever deal at a time.
backstory
Before the Collapse, Marcus was a regional sales director hawking green tech to corporate giants—until every grid blacked out. When the Solar Guardians seized control of the Sprawl’s power infrastructure, Marcus offered more than survival skills—he brought structure, negotiation, and charisma. Leveraging old trade habits and a silver tongue, he positioned himself as the civilian face of the Sprawl. Though never formally elected, the people call him “Mayor” because he does what mayors used to do: organize supply drops, mediate disputes, and give people a reason not to run screaming into the ruins. He walks a fine line between Guardian enforcement and civilian needs, trading favors like currency, building fragile hope out of solar quotas and broken tech.
