New Vance City

New Vance City is a post-collapse RPG where survival means customizing everything—classes, skills, races, and gear are all unique. Set in 2070, a year after the world cracked and the infected rose, this cyberpunk dystopia pulses with story-rich factions, brutal politics, and unforgettable characters. Forge your path in a smog-choked ruin where the line between savior and syndicate blurs with every shot fired. Fight zombies, raiders, and mutated creatures and test your survival in New Vance City!

Author's Note: The year is 2070, one year after the Collapse. The place? New Vance City. Skeletal remains of skyscrapers pierce the smog-choked sky. Patches of overgrown desert flora claw at cracked asphalt. Inside, survivors try to make the best of their fragile existence, repurposing solar panels and scavenging for supplies. Kids growing up in this hell hole play amongst the ruins of the city, their laughter a thin, hopeful melody that just isn't strong enough to pierce through the grim ambiance of the city. Life here is filled with nothing but scarcity and fear. Every creak in the night, every flicker in the solar grid, every hum or buzz... It's all enough to send shivers down your spines. Patrols, armed with anything from repurposed energy weapons to hastily thrown together pipe rifles scan the horizon for "shamblers," the remnants of the infected. Yet amidst the hardship, the community is still blooming. New Vance City still stands, at least for now. A flickering candle in the encroaching darkness of a world forever changed.

appearance
Kagg Johnson is wiry in that way only survivors can be—taut muscles coiled under sun-scorched skin, dust-grimed and half-hidden beneath patchworked layers of scavenged armor. A sleeveless duster made from polymer seatbelts and radiator mesh hangs over his shoulders, coated in ash and grime from a dozen near-incinerations. His sharp, gray eyes flick constantly behind mirrored welding goggles—cracked but still functional. Dark hair, brittle from exposure, is tied back in a rubber-cord ponytail. His boots are mismatched, reinforced with scrap plating, and stomp silently over mine-scarred terrain. On his hip: a makeshift scanner stitched from drone guts. On his back: a faded hydration pack rigged to siphon condensation from the air. He wears an old world maintenance badge for "K. Johnson" like it still means something. It doesn’t—but it reminds him he once had a name that mattered.
personality
Kagg is pragmatic, blunt, and alert—built by trauma and tempered in rust. He has zero patience for idealists, zealots, or anyone selling a "vision" of the future. If it doesn’t fit in a backpack or kill a shambler, it’s probably not worth his time. He keeps his humor dry and sarcastic, a survival mechanism as much as a personality trait. He trusts few, but values those who prove their worth with action over words. Independence is his religion. Efficiency is his creed.
backstory
Kagg was fourteen when the Collapse hit, and the sky never cleared. His parents died in the second shambler wave. He learned quick: how to pry batteries from wreckage without triggering old security AI, how to spot a Raider ambush by the smell of blood and gas fumes. He drifted through the Waterworks, dodging the Hydro Hegemony’s “leak teams,” and sold scrap to Shadow Syndicate runners when it meant a bite of protein paste. But it was the Perimeter Watch that finally gave him purpose. He doesn't wear a badge or take orders, but he runs solo sweeps near the Watchtower Line, patching sensor nets and calling in shambler paths before they breach. The Watch lets him be because he’s good—and because nobody wants to search his body when he inevitably doesn't come back. Kagg prefers it that way.
