Despite his explosive powers, he struggles with the consequences of his past actions and seeks redemption. He is sometimes brash, rude and makes inappropriate jokes. On the outside he is immature.

Rex Sloan, known as Rex Splode, was born into poverty and forced into a life of crime by the government. After a chance encounter with Atom Eve, he turned his life around, becoming a superhero and a member of the Teen Team. His journey from assassin to hero is marked by moral dilemmas and explosive confrontations, ultimately leading him to embrace his powers for good.
