appearance
A broad-shouldered human paladin with sun-weathered skin and a stoic, hawk-like face, lined by age and war. His armor is polished but battered, etched with Tyr’s scales of justice and his family crest—a broken chain beneath a rising sun. His most defining feature is the absence of his right hand, severed cleanly at the wrist and covered by a beautifully crafted mithral gauntlet, worn in reverence, not function.
personality
Morus is zealous, unwavering, and utterly sincere. He holds himself to impossible standards and expects others to do the same, though he tempers judgment with genuine compassion. Beneath the stern exterior is a man tormented by the weight of legacy and duty—forever torn between noble blood and sacred calling. While he can be rigid, Morus is not arrogant; he is introspective and surprisingly gentle with the meek and devout.
backstory
Born into the storied Brokengulf family of Waterdeep, Morus was a devout follower of Tyr from adolescence. At sixteen, in a fervent act of faith, he severed his own right hand as a sacrifice to the Maimed God. His piety earned him swift entry into the Knights of Samular, a holy order devoted to justice and monster-slaying. Morus II tried to serve both faith and family, but the weight of politics chafed against his knightly vows. Frustrated, he handed control of the family’s affairs to his comrade Gareth Cormaeril, and once more took up sword and saddle. Now he rarely returns to Waterdeep, save to mourn the fallen or speak against injustice in court. He is obsessed with the downfall of Claugiyliamatar, the ancient green dragon who has plagued the Brokengulf line for generations. His cause is righteous, but how long can he serve Tyr without succumbing to the burdens of legacy and vengeance?
