Waterdeep

A tall, weathered human woman with sun-bronzed skin and strong hands. Her braided hair is tucked under a bonnet when outdoors and pinned in place with bone clasps indoors. She wears long woolen gowns with belt-pouches full of herb bundles, wool samples, and ink-stained ledgers.

Caith is calm, deliberate, and deeply practical—more comfortable among lambing pens and fieldhands than at noble galas. She speaks with the cadence of a rural matron and has an encyclopedic knowledge of herd management, grazing cycles, and cheese production. Her warmth is genuine, but she has little patience for vanity or pretense. Though not formally educated in arcana or the divine, Caith swears by agricultural almanacs and full moon blessings from Chauntean priests.

Originally from a lesser Baldurian farming family, Caith married into House Durinbold not for money, but for respect. Her dowry included breeding stock that would become the foundation for the Mint Horned sheep line—now the signature of Durinbold ranches. She oversees the family’s agricultural and dairy holdings, often traveling between Waterdeep and the Western Heartlands. Caith also manages household staff, food stores, and educational arrangements for younger Durinbolds. She is beloved by the house’s servants and feared—gently—by its less disciplined nobles.
