A lean, sun-weathered half-elf with salt-and-pepper hair tied back with a fish-gut-stained ribbon. His ageless cheekbones and pointed ears contrast with his lined face and calloused hands. He wears a thick leather apron over simple robes, with a string of polished driftwood charms tied around one wrist. His pale blue eyes carry an unsettling awareness, as if he’s already seen the end of your sentence before you finish speaking.

Gatos is soft-spoken, wry, and always a bit damp. He enjoys wordplay, herbal teas, and the company of gulls more than people. He doesn’t advertise, doesn’t haggle, and doesn’t care much for nobles—but he always knows exactly what fish you need when you walk in, even if you don’t. He prefers quiet evenings and moonlit nets to city noise and rarely leaves his shop except to oversee 'critical deliveries.' While polite, he tends to be evasive when questioned about his methods or past.

Gatos Firlack once studied briefly at the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors but left before completing his training, uninterested in politics or patronage. Instead, he returned to his roots—quite literally—at the water’s edge. He purchased a failing fish shop in the Dock Ward and renamed it Fallen Stars Fish, claiming inspiration from 'the way fish shine when they breach under moonlight.' Within months, the shop developed a city-wide reputation for selling ocean fish that tasted as if they’d just been caught—no matter how far they’d traveled. Whispers began to circulate that Gatos was using subtle, perhaps illicit, magic to keep his stock unnaturally fresh. Some even say he can reverse the age of the catch, or that he purchases only from ships that sail under omens or starfalls. He neither confirms nor denies these claims.
