appearance
A commanding figure in his late 40s during the Year of Prideful Tales (1219 DR), Geldirth possessed sharp features, piercing blue eyes, and a meticulously groomed beard. He favored opulent attire, often adorned with the symbols of Mask, subtly integrated into his clothing.
personality
Geldirth was a visionary, albeit one whose ambitions overshadowed ethical considerations. He valued efficiency and results, often at the expense of morality. His strategic mind and unwavering determination made him a formidable figure in Waterdeep's noble circles, though his methods earned him as many enemies as allies.
backstory
In 1219 DR, seeking to elevate House Gost's wealth and influence, Geldirth masterminded the construction of a clandestine underground complex beneath the family villa in Waterdeep's North Ward. Utilizing slaves acquired from Skullport, he established a network of portals facilitating rapid and discreet trade, bypassing traditional caravan routes. This secretive operation, later known as the Fireplace Level, enabled the Gosts to transport goods swiftly to the southern slopes of the Dark Hills, near Secomber. The venture significantly boosted the family's fortunes but was marred by the ruthless methods employed, including the disposal of slaves once their utility ended. Geldirth's legacy was a double-edged sword: while he propelled House Gost to new economic heights, he also entrenched a culture of secrecy and moral compromise that would haunt the family for generations.
