appearance
A male human sorcerer with pale skin and jet-black hair, standing small in stature. His deep blue eyes suggest a man who has seen almost everything and lived. He often wears simple yet elegant robes that blend into the background, allowing him to remain unnoticed.
personality
Telbran views Waterdeep as a garden, and his actions against evildoers as those of a weeder tending the garden. He is a quiet man who prefers to live under assumed identities, maintaining a low profile while observing and influencing events from the shadows.
backstory
Born in ancient Netheril, Telbran was a scullery knave in the kitchens of the scholar Ensul Thruin. When a rival destroyed Ensul's tower, Telbran's latent sorcerous powers were awakened. He fled with a stolen tome containing the spell Ensul's Soultheft, which he used to survive and extend his life. Over the centuries, Telbran adopted the life of a traveling trader, using his magic to eliminate foes and prolong his life. Eventually, he settled in Waterdeep, where he amassed a fortune and established the noble House Cragsmere under the alias Raeraeth Cragsmere. After the death of his wife, Salarma Meldart, he faked his own death and continued to oversee his descendants from the shadows, living quietly as the book collector Hurlblar Corthyn.
