Once a mercenary mage, he amassed a fortune after stealing the hoard of the sleeping black dragon Vulharindauloth. With his newfound wealth, he established himself as a fixture in the Sea Ward's social scene, casting illusions and pyrotechnics for nobles while secretly plotting to form his own noble house. However, his paranoia about Vulharindauloth discovering his theft led him to hire dragonslayers, which proved fruitless. Tessalar's life was marked by distrust, demanding full payment upfront for his magical creations, and he spent most of his time in his magically fortified tower, crafting potions and scrolls.
