About1
Ship AI Race and the Ship Class. This is a fairly unique way to go about representing Starship travel and Starship combat. Each Starship has an AI character. That character's body, is the starship, but also has an interactable hologram body aboard the ship (think Cortana from Halo or EDI from ME2). When traveling through Space the parties must have a Starship Class with them. HOWEVER, you should not have more than one Starship class with you because your party is inside that Starship and having more than one with you... would be complicated. To make space combat more interesting, and functional with the F&F system. I'm attempting to create a system where the other classes get unique Starship abilities that can only be used on the Starship. These are essentially scaled up spells and abilities to bring them up to the high health of the Starships. This way players have something to do during combat. Getting Franz to play nice with this system will likely not be easy.

Lore1
The major races of Kyon being; Tiefling, Human, Half-Orc, Halfling, Half-Elf, Gnome, Elf, Dwarf, and Dragonborn have lived a long and bloody history. Full of war and peace, magic and swords. However, in relatively recent history, they discovered a continent across the Saturan Ocean, they named it Westlands. Here they found a precious within a mountain they named Lavelle after it's discoverer, Gottrim Lavelle. It was with this that they started creating technology, which lead to the founding of the free city of Koln. This lead to the founding of Kyon United, which further pooled Kyon's reasources, and eventually led them to space travel and where they are today, at the discovery of the mysterious Warp Door in their Solar System.

Lore2
The Syndala race, thanks to being the only dominant race on their home planet of Reayve, quickly rose to power and technological advancement. Creating a robotic AI servent race called the Servus Populi. With their help they were able to achieve Space Flight earlier than anyone else in the Galaxy. Soon after exploring their system of Shareylah they discovered the Warp Door in their solar system and went through it. They found an area of space where there were simply multiples of these Warp Doors suspended there, but all appearing to be inactive, except for their own. The named this The Hub.

Lore3
The Syndala began exploring the Galaxy further around them while also building a space station in the center of The Hub. They eventually found another system with a Warp Door, and within it a planet with an intelligent, but not spacefaring species called the Tenkreon. The Syndala uplifted this species, who named their planet Tenk, and their solar system Tenk Solar System. Once the Syndala and The Tenkreon used the Warp Door within the Tenk Solar System the came out the otherside, in The Hub. This confirmed what they thought would be true, that the Warp Doors must be activated from the other side for their Hub counterpart to activate. This made travel between Syndala people and the Tenkreon very fast, but opened up many questions. Who built the Warp Doors, and why were they setup this way? The Syndala would continue to search for answers.

Lore4
Some time after the Tenkreon were integrated they finished the space station floating in the middle of The Hub, and established a joint government called Centralis Civitas. Around this time is when the Servus Populi, after seeing another species live independantly from the Syndala but still live co-existantly with them, requested their independance. There was concern at first, however it was agreed to peacefully, as the Servus Populi made the argument that independantly they could explore a lot more and possibly find out more mysteries of the Warp Doors without having to serve the needs of the organic races completely. The Servus Populi remain integrated within the Centralis Civitas, but they found their own Solar System with a Warp Door and system of inhospitible planets, gas giants. They were able to harvest and mine from these planets where no one else could, providing valuable resources to the Centralis Civitas. This allowed their technology to progress even further.

Lore5
In the Servus Populi's exploration they found another Warp Door and sentient race. From afar they observed that this was a sentient, plant-like race. Afraid of scaring the very gentle looking people, the Servus Populi instead activated their Warp Door for them, and let the Synadala know. The Syndala then went through the door, and uplifted the very unique race of the Lear. The Lear were very apprehensive at first, being so close with nature they did not care much for Centralis Civitas Station when visiting. However, they saw the advantages joining brought to them and joined in the end. The Lear Embassy is specially built to be full of flora to help accomodate there special physiology.

Lore6
When trying to explore further the races of Centralis Civitas soon discovered that they could not explore much further, finding Dead Space to be much too large of a barrier. The Hub still had four in-active Warp Doors and many theorized that the other side was within the Dead Space region of space, or beyond it... along with their answers to who built the doors originally. The people of Centralis Civitas worked on a solution for navigating Dead Space, but until then they just waited, hoping a Warp Door would someday activate on it's own and someone or something would come out the other side of it.

Notes4Players1
Several ways I an think of for this to go with the scenarios I've provided. 1. War. This is the most action packed scenario where you go through and somehow fall into hostilities with Centralis Civitas. HOWEVER. I have set them up to be a technologically superior force with the intent that you'd have to go back to Kyon and extra forces. IF YOU KNOW you intend to go this route ahead of time, you could just say that there are some reinforcements or Starships waiting on the Kyon Local System's side of the Warp Door or something. 2. Peace. The more diplomatic route is more setup for Slice of Life style play about integrating societies and such. Could make missions about visiting the various alien home worlds and make your own encounters there. I have not developed this much yet. 3. Shared threat. See next note for details.

Notes4Players2
3. Shared Threat Once this is fully fleshed out, I intend to clone this world and edit it as a version that is far in the future, once Kyon and Centralis Civitas are united either through War or Diplomacy (probably with a setup option for which you choose). There is going to be a shared threat in the Dead Space that they need to battle together. At this time, to stay somewhat DND lore friendly and not lean too hard into Mass Effect, I'm thinking the Black Hole is going to be a portal to the Hells or Heavens... or maybe both and the party plus new aliens gets roped into some sort of Heaven/ Hell Space War. This would also give a lore reason why Centralis Civitas and Kyon have the same gods despite being from different solar systems. Mentioning it now in case anyone's campaign gets so far and runs out of stuff to do.

You can see The Wayfarer off in the distance, though you know it won't be there long. The crew was chosen from the class that just graduated, and they are going to be the first to go through the Warp Door. However, everyone knows that there is a danger, and you can feel it in the murmurs of those in Koln Downtown around you. It's a mixture of excitement, and a bit of anxiety... going through this mysterious Warp Door... it could bring something back through. That's why it is important to go to the academy, learn and prepare for what may come through the other side, in case war is brewing. So you can either defend Kyon from whatever lies beyond should they invade here, or so you can take the fight to them if needed... but for now, take in the Koln Downtown, and prepare for your start at Frontier Academy!

Setup3

You hear stories of wild parties and people having the time of their lives over in Koln Downtown... but you don't have money for that. You just have to work day in and day out, whether its the refinery or the mine a silver a day, just so you don't starve. They say The Wayfarer is going to take off to go beyond the Way Door soon. That thing they discovered among the stars... maybe you could try your luck and sneak aboard, see if you can have some adventure in this pitiful life... or maybe while everyone else is focused on the sky, you can try to get ahead here. Whatever comes from beyond that door might not be so friendly and it's not like your own government has done you any favors... maybe it would be better to try and join up with them and create a new life for everyone. You ponder your options.
