Custom Zombie world set in lousiana

Author's Note: Once a land of music, food, and vibrant culture, Louisiana is now a broken wasteland drowned by rising waters and crawling with the dead. After the outbreak, nature and horror alike reclaimed the state, shattering it into six brutal regions, each battling decay in its own way. The heart of old civilization lies in ruin. The Crescent City Ruins — the remnants of New Orleans — stand as a ghostly maze of crumbling skyscrapers and flooded streets, ruled by desperate survivors clinging to forgotten power. To the west, the endless swamps of the Bayou Deadlands thrum with unseen dangers: half-sunken homes, rotting vegetation, and something darker lurking beneath the waters. Northward, the Baton Rouge Wastes sprawl across the land, a graveyard of broken highways, military husks, and toppled monuments to a government that failed its people. Beneath it all lies the greatest prize and the greatest risk: The Drowned Gulf. Entire cities swallowed by the sea now rest beneath brackish, corpse-choked waters. There, relics of the old world — supplies, weapons, secrets — wait to be claimed by the foolish or the bold. Few return from its depths. Beyond the reach of factions, survivors scrape out a fragile existence. The Shattered Northlands are plains of abandoned towns and empty highways where isolated communities trade, fight, and flee in the shadow of roaming undead hordes. To the west, the Forgotten Wetlands stretch endlessly, a marshy limbo of rusting factories, decaying suburbs, and savage lawlessness. In Louisiana’s new world, survival isn't just about fighting zombies — it’s about navigating feuding factions, merciless nature, and the ever-present hunger of the drowned dead. Every day is a battle, and only the cunning, brutal, or lucky endure.

appearance
These soldiers often wear mismatched armor, scavenged from various sources, giving them a rugged, ragtag look. They might have combat fatigues, patched-up vests, or scavenged pieces of military gear adorned with Iron Fangs insignia. The armor is functional but unrefined, showing the wear and tear of constant use. Their faces are hardened, with a few sporting battle scars, but they tend to appear younger and less seasoned compared to mid-tier soldiers. Many wear bandanas or face coverings, creating a menacing, uniform anonymity.
personality
As the foundation of the Iron Fangs, they are eager, loyal, and determined, but often hot-headed and overzealous. Many of them are fresh survivors who want to prove themselves and gain the respect of their more seasoned comrades. Though inexperienced, they are willing to follow orders without question, trusting Rook’s tactics to carry them through battles. These soldiers typically view their higher-ranking comrades with a mix of awe and fear, knowing they must earn their place through hard work and bloodshed. They are united by a common goal: to survive and rise within the ranks.
backstory
The Scavengers are primarily used as foot soldiers in large engagements, often sent in first to clear out weaker enemies or handle low-level combat situations. They are skilled in basic firearm use, close combat with improvised weapons, and brutal tactics that are meant to overwhelm the enemy with sheer force. They serve as the backbone of the faction, though they are often seen as expendable until they prove themselves. Rook’s tactical genius allows him to use the raw aggression of these inexperienced soldiers to his advantage. He often places them in positions where their inexperience won’t result in disastrous losses, such as providing support for more experienced units or leading flanking maneuvers. His use of surprise and psychological warfare makes them more effective than they might appear on the surface.
