Nestled within what used to be Falls Park, the Sioux Falls waterfall still roars — a constant, deafening reminder that nature keeps moving, even when civilization collapses. The surrounding infrastructure has crumbled: rusted railings dangle over stone ledges, wooden observation decks are half-rotted and slick with moss, and graffiti covers every remaining standing wall. The visitor center is burnt out. No signs of life. Just water, stone, and wind.
The waterfall cascades over quartzite rock, its power undiminished. Cold, foamy water stains the red rocks below with lichen and algae. Old footbridges crisscross the streams, many collapsed or barely hanging on, while overgrown grass and invasive weeds burst through the stone pathways. Crows nest in the towers, and coyotes stalk the lower levels at dusk.
