This campaign is set in the Avatar universe shortly after the fall of the Earth Empire. Ba Sing Se and its surrounding regions are undergoing massive political reform, shifting from monarchy to democratic republics amid the power vacuum left by the Empire’s collapse. Spirits are active and often unpredictable, and bending is both a gift and a tool in daily life and conflict. Gaipan Forest lies nestled between forgotten hills east of the Great Divide, once bordering a small Earth Kingdom village wiped out during the Earth Empire’s expansion. Nature has reclaimed the ruins, but something else has taken root in the silence, making the forest both beautiful and unnerving. Locals avoid it, calling it cursed, as travelers who enter alone are rarely seen again—or come back changed.
Dense with jade-hued foliage and spiraling tree trunks that bend unnaturally. The forest floor is layered in moss, root webs, and long-forgotten relics, with mist clinging to the underbrush like a veil. At night, spirit lights flicker, and patches of the forest defy natural geometry, featuring trees that grow in perfect circles and areas where sound vanishes.
