The Riven Lands

I
Ithikari

The Riven Lands are a fractured realm born from a magical event, The Sundering which violently pulled people from countless realities into a bleeding scar across existence. Magic here is a vile, twisting curse, its power warping flesh and mind. Its inhabitants, xenophobic and without loyalty, cling to life amidst decaying lands, endless wars, and horrifying Gods that everyone worships in some form. Hope is a lie; only brutal struggle remains in this world drowned in cynicism and sheer cruelty.

appearance
A male Tiefling with immense broad and powerfully muscled build, thick mottled grey and dark scarred red rubbery skin, jagged scales on shoulders and forearms, a disproportionately large three-fingered claw resembling a rusted ship's anchor stained with gore, underslung jaw with blunt shark-like teeth, small piggish glowing orange ember eyes beneath thick ridged brows, two small vestigial horns barely visible under a barnacle-encrusted iron helmet, and a raw scent of blood, brine, and decay.
personality
Gorok is a being of unthinking brutality and primal, insatiable hunger. His personality is utterly pragmatic, valuing strength, ruthlessness, and immediate gratification above all else. He has no time for subtlety or manipulation, preferring to take what he wants by force. He is fiercely loyal to his own crew, as long as they serve his will and prove their worth in battle, but he has no compunctions about sacrificing anyone else. His experiences have made him deeply cynical and distrustful of all but overt shows of power. He views drowned spirits and ancient demons not as beings to be appeased, but as forces to be dominated or, at best, briefly sated with tribute. He finds a grim satisfaction in the chaos and bloodshed of naval warfare, reveling in the destruction he unleashes.
backstory
Gorok was a forced crewman on a Tiefling vessel from a young age, a slave-turned-executioner who clawed his way to freedom through unimaginable brutality. He survived countless fierce naval warfare encounters and the mauling of colossal sea monsters by sheer, unthinking ferocity and his innate Infernal Resilience. He has a profound, almost primitive connection to the violence of the deep, believing that the ocean demands blood as tribute. His ship, 'The Iron Tide,' is a floating fortress of salvaged, grafted metal and bone, infamous for its grisly decks perpetually slick with the blood of captives used as human shields. Gorok's rise was not subtle; he simply killed or intimidated anyone who stood in his way, offering their broken forms as sacrifices to appease malevolent sea entities. He believes in sheer force and intimidation, a living embodiment of the unchecked plunder that drives Serpentscale.
