Zagan is an enormous creature, standing nearly 6 feet tall at the shoulder and covered in pitch-black fur that seems to absorb the light around him. His hulking body is densely muscled, rippling with power and menace, making him a true force of destruction. His eyes are a glowing, ember-like red, always smoldering with intensity, and they seem to pierce through the darkness with a deadly focus. His mouth is filled with razor-sharp teeth, constantly dripping with saliva, while his breath is hot and smells faintly of sulfur. Long, jagged scars crisscross his body, testaments to the battles he’s fought and the brutality he’s inflicted. His paws are enormous, tipped with sharp, black claws that leave deep gouges in the stone wherever he walks. Around his neck, Zagan wears a thick, rune-inscribed collar designed to control him—though it is debated whether it actually holds any power over him.

Zagan is cold, calculating, and fiercely intelligent. Unlike most Hellhounds, who rely on brute force and primal instincts, Zagan seems to think through his actions with eerie precision. He is patient and methodical in his attacks, often waiting for the perfect moment to strike with deadly efficiency. Zagan seems to understand far more than a mere beast should, and his ability to anticipate threats and outsmart opponents has given rise to the belief that he possesses a level of intelligence rivaling that of a human. Though he is loyal to the prison, Zagan exhibits a chilling independence. He follows orders only when it suits him, and there is always the sense that he is evaluating his situation, perhaps looking for an opportunity to turn the tables. He has a deep, simmering rage that he unleashes only in battle, and his sheer presence instills fear in anyone who crosses his path—prisoner, guard, or even fellow Hellhound.

Zagan was one of the first Hellhounds created in the early stages of Acheron’s secret experimentation program. Enhanced through dark rituals and genetic manipulation, he was bred to be the ultimate killing machine, a creature with unmatched strength, speed, and intelligence. From his early days, Zagan showed signs of being different from the other Hellhounds—he was not just a beast, but a predator with a cold, calculating mind. His creators believed they had forged the perfect weapon, but as time passed, it became clear that Zagan was more than they could control. While he remains loyal to Acheron, there are whispers that Zagan only obeys out of convenience, biding his time for something greater. Zagan’s rise to infamy came after a prisoner led a massive escape attempt, during which he was released to hunt them down. He tore through dozens of escapees, leaving a bloody trail in his wake, and his brutal efficiency in quelling the revolt cemented his legend.
