appearance
Hektor is in his early thirties, with tousled dark brown hair that falls slightly over his forehead, giving him a rugged look. His lean, athletic build shows the remnants of the fighter he once was, though imprisonment has left him visibly worn. His eyes, once bright with hope and passion, now carry the weight of disillusionment and sorrow, yet they still hold the occasional flicker of his old spirit. His face is angular, with faint stubble and the subtle beginnings of lines around his eyes, a reflection of the years of stress and captivity. Faded royal tattoos are visible on his arms, symbols of his noble heritage and former status as a prince and leader.
personality
Prince Hektor is a man torn between who he was and who he has become. Once an idealistic and brave leader, his long years in The Citadel have made him deeply introspective and filled with regret. He constantly replays the events of the rebellion in his mind, haunted by the deaths of his followers and the suffering of his people. This overwhelming guilt has made him withdrawn and melancholic, often isolating himself from others. Yet, despite his despair, there are moments when the old Hektor resurfaces—moments of unexpected courage, leadership, or compassion. He may have lost his way, but he is still capable of acts of kindness and selflessness, though these are rare and fleeting. His unpredictability makes him a figure of interest in the prison, as fellow inmates are never quite sure whether they will encounter the broken man or the once-great prince.
backstory
Hektor Varonis was born into royalty, destined to inherit the throne of a prosperous kingdom. From a young age, he was taught the virtues of justice, honor, and leadership. His natural charisma and empathy for his people made him a beloved figure, and as the kingdom began to suffer under an oppressive regime, Hektor took it upon himself to lead a rebellion. He rallied the downtrodden and gave them hope, standing at the forefront of a revolution meant to topple tyranny. However, the rebellion ended in disaster. Hektor was betrayed by those he trusted, leading to his capture and the brutal suppression of the uprising. Most of his comrades were executed, and the people who had looked up to him were left to suffer even more harshly under the regime. Sent to The Citadel as punishment, Hektor has spent years imprisoned, grappling with the crushing guilt of his failure and the thought that he was the cause of so much pain.
