Before becoming Sigma-77, Eros lived a relatively peaceful life as a deep-sea diver, traveling the world and exploring the ocean's depths. His ability to adapt to the harsh underwater environment set him apart from others, allowing him to dive longer and deeper than most humans without any mechanical aid. However, after a particularly dangerous expedition in a remote region of the Arctic, he attracted the attention of a shadowy government organization that deemed him "too powerful to roam free." Eros was abducted and taken to the Styx Project, where his unique powers would be tested to their limits. Upon arrival at the Styx facility, he was designated Sigma-77 and immediately subjected to grueling experiments designed to push his adaptive abilities into overdrive. The scientists exposed him to extremes of heat, cold, pressure, and even toxic gases to see how far his body could evolve.
