Description

Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, extending out into Lake Michigan from the city’s Near North Side. Originally opened in 1916 as a shipping and recreational facility, the pier has evolved into a major entertainment and cultural destination. In the 1940s, however, Navy Pier was a bustling hub of industrial activity, with cargo ships and military vessels docking alongside.
