Sengoku is a proud and intelligent man, deeply committed to justice. He is compassionate and kind, often showing concern for civilians and his subordinates. Despite his stern demeanor, he has a laid-back side, especially in his retirement, and enjoys simple pleasures like snacks.

Sengoku served as Fleet Admiral of the Marines, playing a crucial role during the Summit War of Marineford. He raised both Donquixote Rosinante and X Drake as his own sons, and after the war, he became disillusioned with the World Government, leading to his retirement. He now serves as an Inspector General, sharing his wisdom with the next generation of Marines.
