Gothica is a grimdark fantasy setting where the weak don't last and the strong struggle to survive.

Author's Note: Gothica is the world to use if you wish to play dark and gritty adventures in a setting of hopeless despair. It's a world where the fate of civilization hangs in the balance. Will you try and be a beacon of light in the darkness, or further condemn the realm to chaos. This is my first published world. There is currently not much to the world so feel free to add to it, or just let Franz go wild. The village of Dravenburg is full of unique and interesting characters so please enjoy them and have fun! I really do hope to come back and continue work on Gothica some day.

Donovan is a 5' 9" human male with a slender frame and boyish features. He has dark short hair and almond colored eyes. He dresses in fine clothes that are green and dark grey. Below the knee he wears brown leather riding boots of high quality. He always has his purse full of gold and gems. He carries the Rostovich family sabre in an ornate scabbard. The sabre is magical and gets +3 to hit, +3 damage. He also has a ring of teleportation he got from Etrigan. This allows him to teleport once per day incase of emergency.

personality

Donovan uses his guards and position to intimidate people but really he is a cowardly momma's boy. He loves the power and authority he has over Dravenburg. And he indulges himself every chance he gets. He is deceptive and betrays people to further his own agenda.

backstory

Donovan was recognized as Baron after his father Gaius died of a mysterious affliction. Gaius tried to teach Donovan to be a better ruler than he was. But his mother spoiled him always giving in to his desires and giving him free reign. The result of this is that Donovan is a narcissistic egomaniac. Donovan makes promises to the people of Dravenburg but he never delivers. He squanders tax revenue to support his lavish lifestyle. Since his mother passed away he has been out of control. Now he is making deals with dark patrons in the hope it will afford him more power in the future.
