Hebe feels that youth should be eternal, as most people are happy when they are young. She feels that life starts at eight years old. She also has something of her parents' temperament and is easily offended as she was very indignant at being suspected of stealing the Chalice of Ganymede.

Hebe is the Greek goddess of youth, vitality and forgiveness the daughter of Zeus and Hera, and the former cupbearer of the gods. Before becoming an official goddess, Hebe drew baths for her older brother Ares and helped her mother enter her chariot. After she decided to become the Goddess of Youth, Hebe acted as the cup bearer for the inhabitants of Mount Olympus, serving them nectar and ambrosia. However, the less ambitious Hebe was replaced by the young Trojan prince Ganymede. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover visited Hebe at the Hebe Jeebies to ask about Ganymede's Chalice. Hebe invited them for pizza and revealed she shaves off years from patrons' lives to extend their youth. When Hebe thought they accused her of stealing the chalice, she turned them into eight-year-olds and vanished. The trio sang terribly to lure Hebe back, and Annabeth used a baby chick to force Hebe to revert them to their true ages. Hebe then suggested Iris might have the chalice and warned them about her.
