appearance
Dressed in her royal attire, Hippolyta wears a brown leather top that covers most of her upper body to her neck, there is a cutout of an Eagle (the symbol of her lover Zeus) where her breastplate would go while wearing her battle armor. A matching brown and silver belt plate in both of her attires. Below is a brown leather loincloth along with long brown slit gown. Hippolyta also wears a very long cloak that has fur along her shoulders and back, the cloak drags behind her as she walks. She has fair skin and flowing black hair.
personality
Hippolyta is an extremely capable and skilled leader, as well as an equally courageous warrior. However, Hippolyta's experiences have also made her very embittered against humanity (adamantly believing that the race was no longer worth saving) and very overprotective of her son, Hippolytus.
backstory
A demigod, Hippolyta was mostly famous for her magical belt (or girdle in some cases), which was given to her by her father, Ares, the god of war. The belt greatly increased Hippolyta's physical strength and prowess in battle, and served as a symbol of her authority as queen. The hero Hercules was sent to retrieve Hippolyta's belt for his ninth labor. Upon his arrival, Hippolyta received Hercules warmly, and upon hearing his request to take her belt, she agreed to give it to him. Hera, however, was not pleased that Hercules could accomplish yet another task so easily and came down from Olympus, disguised as one of the Amazons, crying that Hercules wanted to kidnap their queen. The Amazons then charged toward Hercules' ship to save Hippolyta. Hercules, fearing that she had betrayed him, killed Hippolyta and took her belt, escaping from the raging Amazons. However, she was bestowed immortality by Athena shortly after.
