Io is a skilled weaponsmith and blacksmith and is currently in a relationship with Nubia. She has served her Queen Hippolyta for thousands of years and also participated in the Amazon Games. However, she lost her left eye while guarding Doom's Doorway during the Trial of the Amazons.
