The Smithsonian is an educational and research institute and associated museum complex. It is administered and funded by the government of the United States of America as well as by its endowment, contributions, and profits from its retail operations, concessions, licensing activities, and magazines. There are eleven Smithsonian museums and galleries in Washington, D.C. The Smithsonian has over 136 million items in its collections. Years ago, Zoë Nightshade, Thalia Grace, Bianca di Angelo, Grover Underwood, and Percy Jackson go to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Atlas (The General), Luke Castellan, and Dr. Thorn are also there, located across from the National Air and Space Museum in the Museum of Natural History formulating another plan to destroy the gods, which involves growing skeleton warriors from dragon's teeth (after accidentally growing baby saber-tooth tigers from saber-tooth tiger teeth) and using them to chase Thalia by using the scent of her clothes.
