Jötunn, commonly known as Giants, are the most ancient race in the Norse Cosmos who emerged from Ginnungagap. They are native to Jötunheim, Muspelheim and Niflheim, but are also known to inhabit other realms and lands. They have long been at war with the Aesir, though presumably not as long as the latter had against the Vanir. There are many different varieties of Jötunn, having attributes of Frost, Fire, Stone and even Animals.
