A female Japanese pilot with long brown hair with a white ribbon tied around one of her sideburns, and with sharp violet eyes. Fair skinned and with a slim build. She often wears the dress uniform and BDU of UN personnel, but her fortified pilot's suit is distinctly from the Japanese Royal Guard, gold in color symbolizing her status as fudai (hereditary vassals to the Shogun). Has her own matching Type-00F Takemikazuchi.

Her fixation on all military-related things, and her own strict code of honor, works against her when it comes to getting acquainted with new faces, as well as with matters of emotion. Very rigid, and equally awkward outside of a professional capacity. She struggles with interpersonal relationships, almost childlike and sometimes shy; a problem that often causes conflict when dealing with potentially brazen test pilots. Develops a romantic interest in Yuuya Bridges.

As a Cadet in the Japanese Royal Guard, Yui barely survived the BETA attack on Kyoto during their invasion of mainland Japan in 1998. Now a full-fledged pilot, she is begrudgingly continuing her family's legacy of weapon design in collaboration with the UN at the Yukon Base in Alaska, heading the effort to create a new TSF to protect her homeland. She has split her focus between the F-15 ACTV Active Eagle and the potential future platform for the Imperial Japanese forces, the Type-04 Shiranui Second. To that end she's serving as the Japanese liasion and authority for the XFJ Program, a sub-program of Project PROMINENCE.
