a Second Miss Space

The second TSF to reach production, two years after the F-4. A low-cost, lightweight alternative to the Phantom, the 1st Generation F-5 was built both as a trainer and an export TSF, finding massive success in the European and Soviet fronts. The F-5 is the basis for many subsequent European TSFs (like the Tornado series, and the Mirage III). This is the shift point into modern TSF design based around mobility. It is not seen often outside of certain African nations or as a training craft.
