Description
The French counterpart to the EF-2000 Typhoon, the Rafale is a 3rd generation TSF developed by Dass-Ault after France withdrew from the European Combat Tactical Surface Fighter (ECTSF) program. Just like the Typhoon, by the time the Rafale was finally fielded, mainland Europe was already lost. The French do not use the Mk. 57 SSG and so use special mount pylons with high angle joints, allowing for sweeping forward fire with weapons still on the pylons. Deployed in 1998.
